Alex Mercer was once a hero, who slowly lost hope with mankind and made himself an enemy to be stopped at all cost. When one of his creations stepped up against him and ended his plan on dooming humanity, Alex accepts his fate. However, by chance, a temporal phenomenon transported him to a world where two forces who are at odds with each other for a millennia try to end their feud. With the temporal effect in him still at play, Mercer uses this to his advantage as he tries to hunt, kill, evolve, recruit, and change the outcome of each event he stumbles, world after world.
