Lighters were often unable to control their gifts, known for hurting those around them when they exploded with emotion. Most lighters blocked their gift and retained use of their defensive gift.

Her scent had changed into something intoxicating, addictive, threatening to everything I treasured. Reina was my partner, best friend and yet I wanted more. 

"I'm not yours Eric…" she whispered as I inhaled her scent and kissed her neck.
"You don't believe that," I murmured as I brought my lips closer to her mouth
she was glowing, trembling as I grabbed her pony tail and let it loose.
she gasped at my audacity giving me the chance I needed. I claimed her mouth pushing her against the wall. Arms tightened around my back as I deepened the kiss. I placed a hand on her bare waist and a blast of heat consumed me. she moaned deep in her throat as I brought her hips closer to mine.
You're mine Reina, only mine. I drawled against her neck.
