"No man would hesitate to kill me if they had the chance," he said. "The Zephyrs are a danger to all, a monster who can kill them at any moment. No remorse would be in their eyes as they plunge a knife into my chest."

His eyes stared into mine, stirring with anxiousness. His tone was deep yet slow, as if he put many thoughts behind each word he used. "Liliana. Would you also kill me if you had the chance?"

There was a moment of silence.
