The government has been keeping something from us, a deadly weapon. It isn’t a bomb, or a gun, or a super soldier, but rather a virus capable of killing even the strongest of it’s victims. 

The death rate is 100%, but those who die from it don’t stay in the grave. They come back as something stronger, faster, bloodthirsty. Your loved ones become monsters, nicknamed Nightmares.

Now meet Ember, a young girl from a small coastal town in North Carolina. Her world has already been turned upside down once, and she never fully got over it, but this virus will surely change everything again. With no family left and no one to count on except for an infuriating stranger, will she be able to adjust to the new world?

Xander wasn’t far away from the first cases of this virus when it first broke out, but he was one of the few to immediately take this seriously even before the Nightmares starting coming back to life. He started running, leaving behind everything he knew to stay ahead of the virus. Then he arrives in a small town in North Carolina, where he hopes to be safe for a while. It’s here that he stumbles across a girl with a fiery personality, and a strong will to survive. He badly wants to help this girl, but she keeps pushing him away. Will he be able to break down her walls? Will they be able to survive when everything they once knew is gone?
