In the not so distant future, a mysterious disease affects all mammals. This strange infection was known as the "broken disease," with no vaccine or end in sight. Those infected became creatures of malice, attacking all who deemed a threat. 

But soon, a miracle came, a cure was created and in doing so, the "chess pieces," humans born with supernatural abilities, emerged.

But not all are blessed with these abilities. Some, such as Naomi Briggs, are denied this favor and such are threatened with a miserable existence. 

That is until a child gives her the choice of unlimited power...
