The sun, earths own star and sustainer of life is about to go supernova, and the ensuing solar storm is sure to wipe out all life on earth if not outright destroy the planet itself.  The only hope would be to transfer the consciousness of the twelve billion people who make up the human race into a next generation virtual reality game that was designed as a way to cheat death and have an out of body experience. 

A broken family of five has found their way into Zion by making less than savory sacrifices. But when they get there they realize that with each passing day life in Zion gets more and more realistic, as each and every single one of them is swept up into a cacophony of events that change and mold them into a family with great power and great destiny. They will find their path in the same way many heroes before them had been forced to go through. By living, fighting, loving, and killing.  But a question remains, is Zion online truly a game.
