The Strongest Realm
Nearing the end of the 20th century, all across Earth, Rifts started appearing in three different colours; green, red, or blue. With a population of eight billion, one millionth of the human population, has had their souls altered by a Rift. Those altered by the Rifts were named Hunters, and were ranked from E to S. Their bodies enhanced to superhuman levels, granting them supernatural powers, and a Mark across their right palm respective of the Rift that altered them, which also summoned their Familiars. Loyal companions that aided the Hunters in battle. Each Rift was a gateway to another realm of magic, wonder and impossibilities. Filled with legendary treasures, ancient artifacts, magical items, endless resources, and Mana.
The souls altered by the green Rifts, were Hunter’s marked by the Beasts. The nature of their powers primal, their personality at times feral, and they sensed a danger of baring their fangs at a creature stronger than them. Those altered by the blue Rifts, were Hunter’s marked by the Angels. Their powers, an uncompromising force, of purity and fire. Their nature to heal and destroy all evil in their world, their morality unwavering and blind to connection. Hunter’s altered by red Rifts, were marked by the Demons. With cold sapphire blood coursing through their veins, their wicked powers were always followed by a bone chilling white mist that wafted in the air as a gentle haze. A nature they could never escape, a never ending hunger for power.
With access to new realms, and only the Hunters able to cross over, the world leaders scrambled to govern and police new laws, reforms, criminals, taxes and more. In order to combat this, a collective agreement was made across the world governments and the first Agencies were formed. Tasked with keeping the peace between Hunters and Citizens, regulating economical trade, diplomacy between races, and assigning Hunters their jobs, etc.
Decades since the creation of the first Agency were formed. Rifts have begun to spawn at alarming rate and increasing relentlessness, with creatures now crossing over. Earth has become a cesspool of debauchery, sin, depravity and unspeakable atrocities, all in the name of power and fame. Items from the Rifts now circulate the black market on Earth. Granting Hunters with more amnesty and authority to deal with the supernatural threats. The growing divide between Hunter and Citizens widens, filled with unease and concern of their place on Earth. With tensions mounting, diplomatic relations walking on a razor’s edge, and a rise surge of Rifts. Three low grade Hunters, will be sucked into a war between realms, forced to pick an allegiances.
