In a universe connected to our own. Gods exist and make themselves known, there were 2 gods that were in constant argueing about whom was more powerful or could create the more powerful beings. Eventually they came to an agreement to create a race of creatures built for combat. So both of them created a half of the planet and a humanity in their own vision, granting them power, free will, potential, and each rose a champion with a gift. When a person dies in our world, their soul gets transported to this plain, implanted in the soil. Judged on their lives, and depending on their actions they will be an avatar of 1 of the 2 gods.
