In a realm where dragons once lived as humans, cursed to exist as beasts until their stone hearts are awakened, the young dragon Ioulos finds himself in turmoil. Although he enjoys the freedom of being a dragon, he yearns for a heartbeat—a genuine human connection—but hesitates to reclaim his lost humanity. Princess Genoa, who possesses the extraordinary ability to bring harmony to those around her, feels a deep-seated void in her seemingly idyllic life. When their paths intersect, an unexpected friendship blossoms, fueled by curiosity and a shared longing for something beyond their understanding. Together, they might discover revelations that could alter their destinies, but the cost of their bond could be steep.
Princess Genoa has always lived among dragons, yet her father strictly prohibits any interaction, fearing that her unique gift could awaken a dragon’s dormant heart and forge an unbreakable link. Despite her father's warnings, she is drawn to the dragons' strength and grace, particularly to Ioulos. When she sneaks into Uilliam’s castle to observe the dragons during their annual gathering, a fleeting encounter with Ioulos ignites a connection that neither can dismiss. Captivated by his warmth, she returns to her town, eager to learn more about him, and embarks on a quest to find his castle.
However, she accidentally stumbles into Nahum's lair and finds herself ensnared by the dragon, only to be saved by Ioulos, who arrives just in time. Though rattled, she escapes, left bewildered by her feelings for him. Meanwhile, Ioulos grapples with whether he has done enough to keep her safe. As tensions rise among the dragons and preparations for Genoa's arranged marriage to Prince Yaakov begin, her growing bond with Ioulos complicates her future.
Ioulos sends an enigmatic letter inviting Genoa to his castle. Although she tells her attendant a little white lie about shopping for a gift for Yaakov, she secretly sets off toward Ioulos’s domain. Upon her arrival, Ioulos greets her with a hint of nervousness and ushers her into his magnificent, dragon-themed castle. As they enjoy a meal together, their connection deepens, with Genoa making it clear that her visit to Nahum's lair was solely to find him, not to explore the homes of all dragons. As they navigate their evolving relationship, Genoa confides in Ioulos about her impending marriage to Prince Yaakov, aware that their time together is fleeting. Ioulos presents her with a stunning gown, and despite the uncertainties that lie ahead, both feel a mix of excitement and apprehension about what the future holds, unsure of where their shared curiosity might take them.
