The warriors compromised of awakened humans; people who had gotten skills similar to those in a video game. Unfortunately, not everyone was willing to join this attack force, so the world leaders implemented a lottery-system to fill out the ranks. A few years later, Evelyn’s twin sister was chosen via lottery to become a discoverer, but their biased parents forced Evelyn to go in her sister's stead, putting her in the line of danger.
