Harry Quebert True Story Or

Fight, Flight, or Freeze: The Healer's Story

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to wake up in a body that wasn't yours? A much, much younger body? I can't say that I had ever given it much thought. That was until one night when a patient entered the ER where I was working at and shot me point blank in the head. You know, if he wanted a second opinion, all he had to do was ask. But that's besides the point... Some how, some way, I work up in a strange hospital with a woman that looked suspiciously like my mother holding my hand and crying. Over joyed to see her, it took me a few minutes to realize that I was no longer the 25 year old, successful doctor at one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. Nope, I was a 6 year old girl that for a moment... wanted her mother. When the apocalypse comes, it is everyone for themselves. I have three choices: do I fight for what I want? Will I run away and hide, or will I freeze when the demons of my past come back to haunt me? You might know me as the Healer, but this is my story to tell. ------ Fight, Flight, or Freeze is the second novel in the Rebirth in the Apocalypse series, this time featuring the Healer: Wang Tian Mu and her men. You won't have to read the first one to be able to understand this one, and she is not going to stay a child for the whole thing. Li Dai Lu and her guys will be popping in occasionally, but this is strictly Wang Tian Mu's story! I hope you enjoy! Noble Blood, Convict Chains. Based on a true story.

Set against the sweeping backdrop of 19th-century England and Australia, Collin Peacock: Noble Blood, Convict Chains is the compelling story of Collin Peacock, a man born into the shadows of nobility, fighting to carve his place in a world that constantly pushes him aside. Born on December 13, 1805, Collin and his twin sister, Mary, are the illegitimate children of Jane Peacock, a commoner, and Lord Peter Campbell III, a wealthy sugar plantation owner from Jamaica. Though their father acknowledged them in his will, societal norms prevented him from offering more than financial support, leaving them to grow up in the quiet village of Little Fencote, Yorkshire. Despite his noble blood, Collin was a man of modest means, working as a stockman and poultry seller. His strong will and keen intellect, sharpened by an education his mother secured for him, set him apart from others in his village. Life for Collin took a devastating turn in 1836 when he was falsely accused of receiving stolen pigeons, a crime instigated by his father’s family, the Campbells, who had stopped paying the small sum left to Collin and Mary after Lord Peter’s death. The accusation led to his arrest and a harrowing trial at the Old Bailey. Despite his protestations of innocence, Collin was sentenced to seven years of hard labor in Australia, torn away from his wife Ellen and their four daughters. The journey to Australia aboard a prison hulk was nothing short of a nightmare. Collin’s name was misspelled as “Colling Peacock,” an obvious clerical error that became a new identity in his convict records. Yet, even as he faced the brutal conditions of penal life, Collin found ways to maintain his dignity. He used his education to teach other convicts how to read and write, and his skills as a horseman earned him respect among both prisoners and guards. When news of Ellen’s death reached him from England, Collin’s grief was profound, but it also marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Upon completing his sentence, Collin married Jane Brennan in Australia, and together they started a family. With his indomitable spirit, Collin seized the opportunities available to him, acquiring land and building an agricultural empire in Laidley, a town that would later become part of Queensland. Collin Peacock: A story of resilience, betrayal, and redemption. It chronicles one man’s journey from the green fields of Yorkshire to the harsh, untamed landscape of Australia. Collin’s life is a testament to the power of perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds, as he rises from the ashes of a fractured family legacy to create a legacy of his own.

A True Villainess

Every Isekai novel about taking the body of the villainess is roughly the same. They take the villainess's body and do good and try to clear her name and win over all the male leads' hearts and take the place of the female lead and blah blah blah or mainly something like that. However, that's all boring. Where is the fun in all that? Wasn't the villainous meant to bring drama to the story? Give meaning to the plot. That's where our main character comes in, Lee Jihyo. Lee Jihyo is a woman who hates what people mean to be THE standard. That standard is beautiful, rich, and powerful. The people at the bottom of the food chain have it rough and that's where Jihyo came from. Her parents were a big factor in the way she thinks today but this story is not of her past, but of her future. Her favorite novel (the only novel that made her express any sort of emotion other than emotions of negativity) was a novel called 'Beauty and Light'. Despite the name, she couldn't care less about the main storyline and the heroine and hero. What she was hooked on was the villainous, Anastasia Becker, who was just like her. Ugly, harmful, and hateful. The ending was predictable but she still hated how the "criminal" was treated all because she didn't meet the standard. She saw herself as the villainess and when the book ended she wanted another story for the villainess, a story where she won. Thus her prayers were heard and she was put her in her hero's body. This journey is her journey to get to the top in whatever way she can. She will have no mercy. She will do whatever it takes. She is not like other villains who have sympathy and care. She threw those feelings away far into the trenches of hell. She will remind you all what a villain can do for she will show you what a true villainess is. art of the cover from the Korean webtoon the dark lord's confession. (I will change it soon I'm working on it) I hope you enjoy :))
