In the year 2078, an alien race known as the Kabu decended upon the earth.
The Kabu's biology was far beyond the human race.
Although the Kabu were fewer in numbers than the humans, their pure physical power, and harnessing of energy made the humans no match for the Kabu.
This lead the human civilization to nearly be wiped out.
Many governments conducted unethical experiments in hopes of finding a way to win the war.
During these experiments an american scientist known as Herbert Horace, made a great discovery.
He discovered that every human being has a dormant gene in their body.
This gene was that of an animal, but it was unlike the animals roaming in the wild.
The animal genes in the human bodies were like those of ancient mythical beasts. Creatures with amazing abilities and attributes.
He found a way bring this gene forth and grant a person the ability to shapeshift into their beastly form.
It was a serum that latched onto the gene, bringing it to the surface. This was the true power of the human race.
The people who gained these abilities became known as "Titans" and each had abilities and characteristics of their individual gene.
Using this newfound power, the humans managed to push the Kabu race to eventually flee from the planet.
After the war was over, what remained of the world was mearly 20% of what it previously was.
However, due to the crisis, the entire planet had come together to fight a common enemy. Therefore, the world became one singular united nation.
This new nation became known as, Horace. Named after the brilliant mind who single handedly turned the war around.
The world was still on edge, since they never knew when the Kabu could return with greater advancements of their own.
Because of this, the serum went public and it was discovered that once a person takes the serum it's inheritable, meaning, once every human had been injected, each person born from that point onward had the serum attached to their genome from birth.
However, things quickly turned chaotic. Having little children turning into beasts and wreaking havoc was not preferable.
Therefore, scientists developed a genome blockage device. This device was meant to block the titan genome from manifesting temporarily.
Eventually, once students turn 16, they get their genome unblocked by their individual schools in order to get used to their abilities before the "Titan Academy" entrance exam. The first step to a future within the GTO. The Global Titan Organisation.
