The Mysterious Game: The First Level

While rummaging through his attic, a young boy named Ethan stumbles upon an old, dusty box with a strange label: THE GAME. Curiosity piqued, he opens it and finds a single DVD inside. The cover art is minimalist, yet captivating, featuring only a glowing symbol. Ethan, an avid gamer, immediately senses something unusual about the game and can't resist the temptation to try it out. Eager to share this mysterious discovery, he calls over his three closest friends—Liam, a competitive gamer; Maya, a quick-witted strategist; and Zoe, a tech-savvy enthusiast. Together, they gather around the TV, pop the DVD into the player, and each grab a game console to choose their characters. The moment they select their avatars, the room is flooded with blinding white light. In an instant, they find themselves sucked into the game world, their bodies transported to a vibrant, pixelated environment. Confused but exhilarated, the group quickly realizes that the game is no ordinary adventure. It feels real—too real. They are now part of a vast, uncharted world filled with strange creatures, enigmatic landscapes, and challenging puzzles. The friends must navigate the first level together, where each decision they make has a direct impact on their survival and progress. As they work together to solve puzzles, battle strange foes, and unlock secrets, they begin to notice something disturbing—this game seems to know things about them, their pasts, their fears, and their desires. As they explore further, they discover that the game isn’t just a challenge—it’s a test, and there’s no guarantee they’ll make it out unscathed. The friends soon realize they can’t trust everyone in the game, as some players seem to have dark motives. They must learn to rely on each other and uncover the truth behind The Game before it’s too late. The first level is only the beginning, and Ethan and his friends are about to find out that what lies beyond is far more dangerous than they could ever imagine. GlaringError here! As I have already mentioned in my author review I am restating it here since I am getting tons of comments about it, that I am more of a reader myself than a writer, I made this novel in an attempt to capture my fantasy world residing in my mind into words.. Writing is new for me.. The premise of my novel is inspired by many great works that I have loved over the years. And some elements I have in my novel that are slightly similar to them but it's just the skeleton of it, the real meat of the plot is entirely my own cooking. Some of the influence that is more noticeable is from The Runesmith (By Kuropon), The King's Avatar (By Butterfly Blue) and Shadow Slave (By Guiltythree). I have immense respect for these legends and I can only hope to follow in their footsteps. To all those who comment just by judging the name, at least give it a chance before letting your opinions known. Thank you.

It’s unlike anything they’ve ever seen, pulsing with an unsettling energy that neither of them can explain. The First Climber

Eren Kain was an ordinary engineer and inventor until the day the Tower of Trials appeared. A massive, otherworldly spire reaching into the heavens, the tower beckoned humanity with promises of power, wealth, and immortality—but also death. Unlike the others, Eren was forcibly bound to the Tower. No one else could enter until he began his climb, and he couldn’t leave unless he reached the top. Stripped of magic, aura, or any supernatural ability, Eren’s only advantage is his engineering genius and the technology he can smuggle in. From basic firearms to drones and exoskeletons, he uses every tool at his disposal to survive the monsters, traps, and bizarre ecosystems within the Tower. Yet even technology has its limits in a world governed by magic. As Eren climbs, he discovers the Tower isn’t just a trial but a puzzle. Its magic isn’t arbitrary—it’s systematic, a science he slowly learns to decode. However, one wrong calculation could kill him instantly, forcing him to balance experimentation with survival. He scavenges magic crystals, artifacts, and spell books, using them in crude, improvised ways to bolster his arsenal. Over time, he begins merging technology and magic, creating unique hybrid tools to overcome the increasingly insurmountable challenges. But why was Eren chosen? What secret does the Tower hold?
