Domestic Abuse

Beyond the pain and loneliness

"Beyond Pain and Loneliness" is a profound and emotional story that explores the lives of several young people marked by their personal experiences, inner struggles, and complex relationships. Through the eyes of Pariz, the protagonist, the dark nuances of a life filled with difficulties are revealed: bad grades, a broken family due to an alcoholic and abusive father, poverty, and the pain of living in a constant struggle for survival. Pariz, accustomed to indifference and pain, seeks to escape her reality through cigarettes while confronting her own emotional emptiness. On the other hand, Lápiz, a girl with a past of abuse and loneliness, has never known love in any form. Her childhood was marked by abuse at her old school and the abandonment of any family figure. Now, with a closed and distrustful personality, she finds it hard to open up to others. She lives in a constant state of distrust, unable to connect with those around her, slowly opening up to new emotions, cherishing them, but also denying them. She constantly fights with herself to accept experiences and learn from them, recalling blocked memories and disturbing experiences, confronting them little by little to discover herself. Each character in the story has their own background and development. Johan, JJ, Joakin, and other companions, all with their own wounds and motivations, play a fundamental role in the growth and transformation of Pariz and Lápiz. As they face their own trials of pain and redemption, their paths intertwine, leading each one to confront what they fear most: their own fears, traumas, and the possibility of finding something as foreign to them as love and acceptance, in a small group of young people wounded in different ways, hiding it to be with others. "Beyond Pain and Loneliness" is a raw and unembellished exploration of the effects of abuse, loneliness, emotional dependency, and the desire to belong. It is a story unafraid to show the darkness of life and the disappointment of any attempt to escape that hole, but it also highlights the sparks of salvation in a poetic way, even if imperfect and filled with scars.

My New Life is a Nightmare

At just 15 years old, Kikomori stands at the entrance of his new high school, the weight of his past anchoring him in place. Beneath his quiet exterior lies a dark history that has haunted him since he was six, when a horrific tragedy shattered his innocence. His once joyful world, centered around his loving mother, crumbled the day his father, Hector, killed her in a fit of drunken rage. The aftermath left Kikomori trapped in silence, paralyzed by his father’s threats to burn his mother’s body if he ever spoke the truth. At school, Kikomori’s teachers notice his bruises and emotional withdrawal, but his fear of his father keeps him from confessing. One concerned teacher, sensing something is deeply wrong, tries to reach out, offering comfort and a promise of help. But the moment she calls his father to the school, Kikomori is forced to face the man who has controlled his life through violence and manipulation. Hector, appearing well-dressed and respectable, exudes a chilling charm that hides his true nature. He quickly manipulates the situation, making it seem like Kikomori's claims are mere figments of an overactive imagination. The teacher, however, senses the tension and fear in Kikomori's eyes. She confronts Hector, determined to protect the boy, but Kikomori, terrified by his father’s veiled threats, breaks down and runs to him, choosing the safety of silence over the danger of speaking out. The story unfolds as a psychological thriller, exploring Kikomori's internal struggle between fear and the desire for freedom, and the sinister hold Hector maintains over his son. It delves into the trauma of domestic abuse, the manipulation of appearances, and the battle between silence and truth. As Kikomori tries to navigate his new school and escape his father’s control, he must decide whether he has the strength to confront his past, or whether Hector's shadow will forever silence him.
