In the world of Chronoa, the dawn of a new age is heralded by desperation. For generations, the races of Humania have stood defiant against the creeping darkness and monstrous hordes that threaten to swallow their lands. Battles rage, kingdoms fracture, and even the bravest warriors fall beneath the tide. Outnumbered and beset on every side, the rulers and sages of the Estevania Empire pour the last of their hopes into a single, forbidden rite—the legendary Hero’s Covenant.
Forged in ancient myth, the Hero’s Covenant promises salvation: by sacrificing the purest souls, the empire seeks to summon powers long lost to time. The ritual is heralded as humankind’s greatest chance for deliverance, their final bid for survival and eternal peace.
But something goes wrong.
Where light should have returned, a chilling silence settles. Forces meant to save instead begin to unravel the world’s fragile balance. As the days pass, strange things stalk the forests and forgotten towns. The fallen do not rest. The missing return, hollow-eyed and twisted, bearing strange wounds and hungers whispering of a fate worse than death.
Now, as hope’s last gamble curdles into horror, all of Humania... No! all of Chronoa faces the consequences of reaching too far—and discovers that not every action can brings salvation. Some open the way for darkness that will not be denied. In the shadow of the failed Hero’s Covenant, the land itself begins to turn against those who wished to save it.
