My name is Emerald Yaga. I am the current Witch of the Wood as my Gran, Darlene Yaga, died a few years ago. One of her wishes was for me to travel to Wellcrest, Maine, and go to high school. There was a clatter as the basilisk fangs cascaded out of Hermione's arms. Running at Ron, she flung them around his neck and kissed him full on the mouth. Ron threw away the fangs and broomstick he was holding and responded with such enthusiasm that he lifted Hermione off her feet. "Is this the moment?" Harry asked weakly, and when nothing happened except that Ron and Hermione gripped each other still more firmly and swayed on the spot, he raised his voice. "OI! There's a war going on here!" Ron and Hermione broke apart, their arms still around each other. "I know, mate," said Ron, who looked as though he had recently been hit on the back of the head with a Bludger, "so it's now or never, isn't it?" "Never mind that, what about the Horcrux?" Harry shouted. "D'you think you could just --- just hold it in, until we've got the diadem?" "Yeah --- right --- sorry ---" said Ron, and he and Hermione set about gathering up fangs, both pink in the face.

ESMERALDA is sprawled on the couch, a mischievous glint in her eyes, while JAMES, ALBUS, and LILY reminisce about childhood memories. ESMERALDA suddenly straightens up, curiosity piqued. ESMERALDA James, Albus, Lily, when you first told me your dad, Harry, worked at the Ministry of Magic, I assumed he was a... cop? You know, like a wizard cop? ALBUS and LILY exchange amused glances while JAMES bursts out laughing. JAMES (grinning widely) A wizard cop? That’s rich! HARRY, overhearing from the kitchen, pokes his head around the corner, an eyebrow raised in intrigue. HARRY (teasingly) And what do you think I am? Some magical law enforcement officer patrolling the streets like a Dark Mark on patrol? ALBUS can’t hold back and joins in the fun, leaning over to ESMERALDA. ALBUS Actually, he’s more of a wizard detective. You know, solving the case of the missing broomsticks! LILY giggles, jumping in. LILY And catching rogue leprechauns who refuse to give up their gold! ESMERALDA chuckles, but there’s a hint of sincerity in her voice. ESMERALDA So, what does he actually do then? HARRY walks into the room fully, a grin plastered on his face. He gestures animatedly, clearly enjoying the banter. HARRY I’m an Auror, which is basically like a wizard cop—but less flashy, I promise! We deal with dark wizards and protect the magical community. ALBUS flaps his hands dramatically. ALBUS So, like “Harry Potter: Special Magical Forces Edition”? Where’s the action film? HARRY chuckles, shaking his head. HARRY Trust me, the real “action” is about paperwork—endless, boring paperwork. JAMES playfully nudges ESMERALDA. JAMES So what do you think? Should we start calling him Inspector Potter? ESMERALDA bursts into laughter, her earlier confusion fading into amusement. ESMERALDA Absolutely! Next time he catches a dark wizard, maybe you should follow him around with a camera! LILY grins, joining in the playful scheme. LILY “Inspector Potter: Coming Soon to a Broomstick Near You!” HARRY pretends to be exasperated as he rolls his eyes, but the twinkle in his eye reveals he’s thoroughly enjoying the ribbing. HARRY Great, now I'll have to watch my back for rogue reporters too! ESMERALDA leans back with a smirk, feeling more at home with the family’s playful dynamics. ESMERALDA You know, I think I like this “wizard cop” idea better. How do I get a badge? Everyone bursts into laughter, the camaraderie wrapping warmly around them like a cozy blanket of shared jokes and silly banter.
