Unwritten Desires

Oww…” I winced, lifting my throbbing head before glancing around and as expected the lab was in chaos. There was glass shattered everywhere, sparks fleeing from one place to another and the acrid scent of burning chemicals filled the air. Flames licked at the countertops, but what made my stomach drop was the gas spilling from a ruptured pipe. Crap. No one needed to tell me, I already knew it was toxic. The faint greenish tinge to the air, the sharp sting in my nose. It was more than toxic….it was deadly. And spreading fast. I tried to push myself up, but pain shot through my ankle, forcing me back down. I bit back a scream. “Dammit!” That’s when I saw him. It was the same guy…I recognized him now. Or at least, his fake identity. Liam. Only, his real name was Alex, and I knew more about him than I should’ve but he didn’t need to know that. He was standing near the exit, scanning the chaos with an unnerving calmness and it was obvious he hadn’t seen me yet. “Liam!” I choked out, coughing against the gas as it seeped closer. His head snapped in my direction. His eyes locked on mine, and for a moment, I thought he’d help. Instead, his expression hardened. He turned toward the door, ready to leave. “Wait!” I shouted, my voice cracking. “Help me! Please!” He paused, barely glancing over his shoulder. “I’m sorry, do I know you?” His voice was cold, detached. I gritted my teeth. My head throbbed, and the gas was making my vision blur, but I forced the words out. “We have classes together and do you even need to know someone to help them out?” I snapped. His gaze lingered on me for another second before he turned to leave and then I knew I had no choice. “If you don’t help me, I’ll tell everyone your secret.” My words made him turn. His dark eyes narrowed as he strode closer, towering over me. “My secret?” His tone was mocking. “Your fall must’ve really messed with your head. Now you think a bluff is going to make me help you?” “It’s not a bluff,” I snapped, coughing violently. “I know who you really are, Alex.” His entire body stiffened. “Care to repeat that?” His voice was low, dangerous. I sucked in a shaky breath, the gas burning my lungs. “I know this identity of yours is just cover, Alex Bronson.” ~~~~~~ Eleanor is a 22-year old woman who was involved in a car accident on her way to her interview. Unwritten Mates

“Rate that one,” Ethan whispered, sidling up to me as I tried to swallow my frustration. He gestured toward another girl walking by with her father—a tall man with a belly that strained his too-small suit jacket. “Girl’s a solid six,” Ethan murmured, barely holding back his grin. “Dad? Three. No, wait. Two-point-five. Those shoes are a crime.” “Piss off,” I hissed, though the corner of my mouth twitched. Teely joined him, holding two champagne flutes, one of which she offered to me. “You look like you need it.” “Gee, thanks,” I muttered, downing the drink in one go. It didn’t help. Teely laughed softly. “Relax, Luca. You’ll survive this. Probably.” “Only because I haven’t strangled anyone yet,” I shot back, earning another chuckle from Ethan. “Seriously, though,” Ethan said, dropping his voice. “You’ve gotta pick someone, or your dad’s gonna lose his mind. And let’s be honest, the guy doesn’t have much sanity left to lose.” I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck. “I’m not picking anyone. None of these people matter.” “Your funeral,” Ethan said with a shrug, though there was a flicker of understanding in his eyes. He knew. He always knew. The night dragged on, every interaction blurring into the next. Girls smiled politely, their fathers talked about alliances, and I nodded through all of it like I wasn’t seconds away from bolting out the door. Then it hit me. A scent. Faint, but unmistakable. It was like rain on warm soil, mixed with something sweet and soft—something her. My chest tightened, my wolf snapping to attention like someone had just poured gasoline on a fire. I froze, the world around me dimming as I tried to track it. My head snapped to the left, then to the right. Where? Where was it coming from? “Luca?” Ethan’s voice sounded far away, like it was coming from underwater. There. My eyes locked on the grand staircase at the far end of the hall. A girl was descending, her dress shimmering in the light like it was made of emeralds. Her movements were slow, almost deliberate, and I couldn’t see her face yet. But I didn’t need to. My heart hammered in my chest, each beat louder than the last. She was holding the arm of a man—tall, broad-shouldered, and irritatingly familiar. But I couldn’t focus on him. Not when she finally turned her head, her face coming into view. Quinn. My legs nearly gave out. My breath caught, my wolf howling inside me. It was her. After everything, she was here. And she wasn’t alone. ******************************************************************* Seventeen-year-old Quinn Wayne moves with her family from bustling New York City to a secluded, mist-shrouded town in Alaska, where her parents have purchased a dilapidated inn. Surrounded by dense forests and towering mountains, the picturesque town promises a fresh start—but Quinn quickly realizes it holds secrets far darker than she could have ever imagined. In this epic journey of love, sacrifice, and self-discovery, Quinn must rise as the Lunar Guardian, embracing her newfound powers and her identity as Luca’s mate. The path ahead is uncertain, filled with loss, triumph, and transformation. But one thing is clear: the choices Quinn makes will forever alter the balance between humans and werewolves—and determine whether love can conquer even the darkest of curses.

An Extra’s Tale

"Compassion. Tell me, what is compassion? Is it a virtue? Or a weakness? A sign of naivety, or wisdom? Or is it one of those ideals that treads the line of ruin and preservation, an unfathomable ideal who's understanding surpasses the mortal mind; only being truly understood by the gods. Mortals struggle with it, wielding compassion like a sword from which they use by holding its blade not handle..." Growing up Reshi never lived a good life. His life had either been bad or worse, or sometimes just bad waiting to happen. Then life decided to crank it up a notch. His family died. Then he died. Then he got slapped by a deity and wacked into the world of his new favourite novel. Here perhaps you maybe thinking he was living a life of riches. Was he the main character? Was he living a life of riches and joy? Was he gifted cheats and powers beyond belief? Was he a cool extra, loved by others and leading a simple life, only being unfortunately dragged into the plotline due to his outstanding moral. Well, partially. He definitely wasn't loved. Not when he transmigrated into the body of Arthur Gravewalker. The Son of the Duke on the modern world of Pandora where humans settled after leaving Earth hundreds of years ago. He was a minor antagonist, not even one that appeared in the main story, with at least a couple of chapters outlining his villainous ways! No, he was some antagonist used to spice up the past of one of the main cast during a flashback scene in the book. So peace was a thing Reshi wouldn't find even in this life. No, he'd have to work for it. Fight for it, give everything he had to suffer and claw to strength, so that finally. He might actually be able to live in peace.
