Germs

Rise of the Hidden Queen

“You want to marry me?" Luna raised her brows looking straight into the bottomless ocean blue eyes of the world-renowned bachelor sitting in front of her. He wanted to marry her? An ordinary abandoned kid who was still in school? With a single word from him, women of all sizes and backgrounds would be ready to marry him yet he wanted her? That was interesting~ Aiden saw the tiny glint of tease in her eyes despite the serious and confused words she seemed to let out. "It's a marriage of mutual benefit." Luna quietly nodded her head at his words. Indeed. It was a marriage that would benefit both of them. She needed his support at the moment to get avoid trouble and get higher while he needed her to... sleep. Since the first time he met her, he had developed severe insomnia and his disgust towards other people and germs intensified! Before he could just avoid people and be done with it not that he was bothered about getting close to people but now he couldn't even sleep for 2-3 days in a row! "I can marry you Mr. Lee, but..." Luna put a hand on the cup of tea in front of her. She slid her fingers around the rim of the cup while her body leaned towards the table, seemingly getting closer to the man. "will you be okay marrying me? We all want a pleasurable sex life in this arrangement, yes?" Aiden saw the glint in her eyes and the tease that came along with it. Her tastes were very... unique. Though he couldn't say if he disliked it or not at the very least he seemed okay doing it with her? Through gritted teeth and slightly pink ears, Aiden spit out his words. "Let's have a pleasant marriage, Ms. Grey." Luna let out a bright smile. "Of course, Mr. Lee." 'Oh, it will be a very pleasant marriage~' When Aiden read those unspoken words that seemed to be attacking him through her bright eyes, he fell silent. To days war in the world

Asymmetric warfare is a conflict between belligerents of drastically different levels of military capability or size. Biological warfare, or germ warfare, is the use of weaponized biological toxins or infectious agents such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Chemical warfare involves the use of weaponized chemicals in combat. Poison gas as a chemical weapon was principally used during World War I, and resulted in over a million estimated casualties, including more than 100,000 civilians.[25] Cold warfare is an intense international rivalry without direct military conflict, but with a sustained threat of it, including high levels of military preparations, expenditures, and development, and may involve active conflicts by indirect means, such as economic warfare, political warfare, covert operations, espionage, cyberwarfare, or proxy wars. Conventional warfare is declared war between states in which nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons are not used or see limited deployment. Cyberwarfare involves the actions by a nation-state or international organization to attack and attempt to damage another nation's information systems. Insurgency is a rebellion against authority, when those taking part in the rebellion are not recognized as belligerents (lawful combatants). An insurgency can be fought via counterinsurgency, and may also be opposed by measures to protect the population, and by political and economic actions of various kinds aimed at undermining the insurgents' claims against the incumbent regime. Information warfare is the application of destructive force on a large scale against information assets and systems, against the computers and networks that support the four critical infrastructures (the power grid, communications, financial, and transportation).[26] Nuclear warfare is warfare in which nuclear weapons are the primary, or a major, method of achieving capitulation. Total war is warfare by any means possible, disregarding the laws of war, placing no limits on legitimate military targets, using weapons and tactics resulting in significant civilian casualties, or demanding a war effort requiring significant sacrifices by the friendly civilian population. Unconventional warfare, the opposite of conventional warfare, is an attempt to achieve military victory through acquiescence, capitulation, or clandestine support for one side of an existing conflict.

English-language werewolf novel from the mid-to-late 1980s

The book begins much as you described. An anthropologist is listening to members of a primitive tribe talk about how a werewolf had been killing people, twelve years ago, in sprees which always occurred during a full moon, until the tribal shaman was able to come up with a way to kill the monster. The scholar is interested in letting them talk, but personally suspects the "werewolf" was something like a victim of rabies who foamed at the mouth and seemed inhumanly strong as he went on a rampage -- although it is odd that he would survive long enough to launch three killing sprees at monthly intervals. The scholar silently speculates that perhaps there were multiple rabid attackers, in a monthly cycle -- each new one having been infected by the previous before he died of his disease, and only the last of them was somehow trapped and killed by the men of the tribe, who then blamed this "monster" for all of the previous killings. The scholar is trying to be polite, but evidently his skepticism shows through. The shaman is offended at being patronized by a white man who thinks he already knows all the answers. The shaman had kept a souvenir of the werewolf, dried out and in powdered form, believing it still contained the power to create another werewolf if need be. The shaman (called "Ugalde") puts that special powder into a bottle of whiskey and then . . . With the swiftness of a man half his age, the Indian leaped from a sitting position onto the other's chest, as if he were pinning him in some friendly athletic contest. But the crazed expression covering his face and the keenness of the knife blade removed any trace of ordinary competition from the action. Ugalde sat the bottle viciously on the ground next to the visitor's face and tipped the neck of it toward his mouth. "Drink," he ordered. "Ugalde!" the man cried frantically. Visions of wriggling microbes being revitalized by the liquor flooded his mind. Could any life survive for a dozen years in such a dehydrated state? Yes, yes, viruses could live for centuries! "What in the name of God are you doing?" A sneer replaced the sullen look the older man had worn. "Your god! You believe your eye, white man, and only that, so drink and see what the devils you don't know can cause a living spirit to become! Drink, or I will cut your throat!" Then a good chunk of the book deals with brutal murders taking place, always on the night of a full moon, and various characters getting interested in the investigation, for various reasons. At first, there's a serious lack of surviving eyewitnesses to describe the mysterious attacker to the cops, but gradually the evidence accumulates that something strongly resembling a Hollywood-style werewolf is involved in these homicides. We readers, of course, have a very good idea of how that happened. Then another large chunk of the book deals with what happens in one horrible night after the anthropologist has been taken into custody. (I think he finally surrendered himself to the police, voluntarily, and described everything he could remember about the incident with the shaman, and what's happened since then on the nights with full moons in the sky.) You are correct that becoming a werewolf appeared to be a type of communicable disease, although I can't recall if it was specifically established, during the novel, to be a "germ" or "virus" or what. You are also correct that silver was particularly effective against a werewolf. Other weapons could pierce its flesh, but it appeared to recover very rapidly from such wounds. (Sort of like Wolverine's mutant "healing factor" in the X-Men comics and movies.)

A Cure called Love

Drugs may cure our bodies, but what about the soul? One can recover from the deadliest disease, if he's a happy soul, but the damaged ones crumbles inside. There's only one remedy for these broken souls, that is LOVE. . . . "What's better than a warm bath---" Chen Xixi stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed a man lying on her bed, with his head on his palm. "Welcome back baby~" Jiang Sheng purred in a deep voice. "The fu*k you doing here?" Chen Xixi was so angry that she could faint. "Chill darling. I'm here to surprise you. Don't you like it?" "Yeah I loved it. Let me return the favor." Xixi pounced at Jiang Sheng and locked him in a choke hold. "How many times I have told you to get lost?" Xixi gritted her teeth while suffocating the man below her. "Let go you, witch. You'll scratch on my neck" Chen Xixi wasn't able to hold him for a long time though. "Crazy woman! Are you that jealous of my appearance?." Sheng was checking in the mirror, on the opposite wall, if his neck had any marks. "Hah! Stop spouting nonsense and get your dumbass out of my room. You contaminated my bed with your germs. Ewww" "I'm trying to do my job ok? I was instructed to surprise my 'fan' who stays in this dorm room. It was by someone whom I can't refuse." Jiang sheng smirked and teased the already fuming lady. "I didn't knew you were my fan." "Your fan? You've finally lost it. I'll gladly kiss a pig then to see your face one more time. What lunatic is spreading these baseless rumors?!" "Your family." 'The utterly confused face of Xiaoxi made Jiang sheng's day. 'This was worth the efforts' You're welcome to join this hate-love relationship journey of Chen Xixi and Jiang Sheng.
