He was the key that made the magicians work together. He disappeared a hundred years ago and since then the elemental magicians live in four separate parts. The people are spread out over these parts. Selene lives in the earth part and she is one of the few in her class who does not have magical powers. One day she suddenly suffers from a headache. It comes in waves. After she has put her brother and sister to bed, she looks outside. It is a full moon. The next day she wakes up. She is outside and at least half an hour away from her house. Her clothes are torn. She has no idea what has happened.
