Ming Dynasty: I risked my life to teach the prince
In the eleventh year of the Hongzhi reign, Chen Ce transmigrated to the Ming Dynasty.
His father had some assets in Hangzhou Prefecture, but a severe illness took the lives of his parents, and their family business was seized by his uncle. Chen Ce was subsequently cast out and set off alone for the capital.
He thought he had fallen from heaven into hell and that his days ahead would be difficult—until he met a mischievous young boy.
This boy would often seek out Chen Ce to discuss sensitive issues, such as the future path of the Northwest, how to deal with the Wokou (Japanese pirates) in the Southeast, and the reform of the Tusi system in the Southwest.
In response, Chen Ce always answered patiently, but he noticed that nothing in the Ming Dynasty seemed to change.
Growing weary, Chen Ce finally asked the boy, “You keep asking me these unrealistic questions. What’s the point of me answering them?”
Then, one day, the mischievous boy reappeared, now clad in a dragon robe. With a smile, he said to Chen Ce, “Little brother, I have ascended the throne. I am Zhu Houzhao. The theories you spoke of—I can finally put them into practice!”
