Cry | Exorcist: The Blight of Yonder
Geogia is a world afflicted by an unholy scourge: mutagenic miasma. This curse has defiled creation for over a century, making demons of the planet’s denizens, and a hellscape of its terrain. Now, evil pervades almost all sentient life, profuse with bloodlust and derangement. Yet, civilization does persist, scattered across six megalopolises and dutifully protected by its exorcists. These “heroes” once waged apocalyptic crusades against me and my children, but there are few riches left to die for outside the cities today.
Thus, the exorcists stay close to the citizenry, united in preserving the ever-weakening remnants of social order—a wasted endeavor. Only a fraction of the globe remains habitable to the non-demonic. Even if nature altered her allegiance, it is foolish to think, given enough time, salvation will emerge from within the very people who need it. For the true threat isn’t the monsters that hunger beyond edified borders but the darkness sapience suppresses in its own heart.
