Magic Stones Orphan

Stone to the Mound

In the remote mountains of Appalachia, sixteen-year-old Daniel Cooper has an unusual talent. He's known in his rural community for his uncanny ability to throw stones with incredible speed and precision, even curving them mid-air to hit his target. For Daniel, this skill is simply a part of his life, used to hunt or entertain friends, until a fateful encounter changes everything. When James Larkin, a former professional baseball pitcher known as the “King of the Mound,” crashes his small plane near Daniel’s village, he stumbles upon Daniel displaying his extraordinary throwing abilities. Intrigued and sensing raw, untapped potential, James realizes he’s found a rare talent – one that could be honed for greatness on the baseball field. Driven by his own dreams of reviving a struggling high school team and haunted by memories of his glory days, James offers Daniel a chance to leave behind his quiet, isolated life and pursue a future he never imagined. But the path isn’t easy. As Daniel steps onto the baseball diamond for the first time, he faces challenges far beyond the stones he threw back home. He must learn to navigate the intricacies of the game, master a new kind of throw, and confront a world that’s both exhilarating and unforgiving. Alongside his newfound mentor, Daniel discovers that his greatest battle will be overcoming self-doubt and proving he belongs among those with far more polished skills and experience. Legacy on the Mound follows Daniel’s journey from a small-town underdog with a rural gift to a determined young man chasing an unexpected dream, inspired by a coach with his own story to tell. In this tale of mentorship, grit, and the unbreakable bond forged between coach and player, Daniel learns that with the right guidance, even the most unconventional talent can be a game-changer.

The Orphan’s Inheritance; Crimson Estate

It all started with a deed to a mansion; Crimson Estate. ————————————————// “W-Who are you?" Anya stammered with fear at the three men before her The man in the center stepped forward. “Welcome home, Anya," he said with a deep voice. Her legs felt like they might give out beneath her. She had no idea who these men were, but one thing was clear—they had been expecting her. And they were anything but normal. They looked like they were in their late twenties, with glowing red irises that terrified her. The one in the center, Kai, a tall man with jet-black hair and an authoritative presence narrowed his eyes at her. "Quit being afraid," he ordered. "Hearing your heart race like that is distracting." Anya couldn't speak, couldn't even think clearly. Fear gripped her so tightly she felt she might pass out—or worse, embarrass herself by peeing her pants. Damien, another wet-like black-haired man with a mysterious, almost disarming charm, took a step toward her. "Easy," he said gently, reaching out as if to calm her. But as his hand moved closer, Anya jerked away, her foot catching on the rug beneath her. She tripped and fell hard to the floor. "Look," Zephyr, the third man—ginger-haired and softer in appearance—spoke up, his voice was calm and less terrifying. As he crouched slightly, his red eyes dimmed to a more human-like glow. "We're not here to hurt you, Anya." Anya forced herself to speak despite her fear. "How... how can you expect me not to be scared? How can I trust any of you?" Her gaze shifted from one man to the other. “I don't even know who you are, and this house—this house was left by my deceased grandmother to me!" Zephyr chuckled lightly under his breath, but before he could say anything, Kai spoke. "It's been two years since we sent out that envelope. You were meant to come here, and I'm glad you finally did." ——————————————————// Anya always believed she was just an ordinary girl, orphaned and stuck in a mundane life—until her 18th birthday changes everything. A mysterious letter leads her to Crimson Estate, where she meets three hot vampire brothers, each carrying the weight of a deadly prophecy. Anya soon discovers she’s not just human but a Nyx—a powerful being destined to either save or destroy the vampire race. As she navigates her powers, eerie visions of death and fire plague her dreams. With danger closing in and the brothers relying on her to protect the vampire race, Anya must decide: embrace her true nature, or risk losing everything. But with secrets lurking in the shadows, unfinished business and boy drama, one wrong move could set their world ablaze. Can Anya save the vampire race before it’s too late? ###PSA; none of the images I used belongs to me. I got them all from Pinterest and I would take them down if requested by the owners.

Sword in Stone

Artie had lived her whole life feeling like a joke. Whether it came to her full name, her parents ‘abandoning’ her and her next door neighbours taking her in, or finding out that her lover was part of a cult and was cheating on her. Said lover then stabbed her. It felt like she just couldn’t catch a break. So when she found herself in a puddle of her own blood, staring up at a fake painted sky, she could only find humour in the situation, and prayed that the next life was kinder. Only she woke up. In the same body, with the same stab wound, only in a world full of magic, swords, and a dead King Arthur? Yup. The round table existed, the knights existed, and so did everyone of legend that she’d heard about as a child. Only it was the beginning of their tales. Nothing had happened yet, except the formation of Camelot, the crowning of the King, and then the sudden death of the King of Legend, King Arthur Pendragon. She would have thought this was another cruel joke if everyone wasn’t wandering around in mourning clothes. If this was a practical joke, it wasn’t a very funny one. Artie was tired. She’d already spent almost a decade working as a police officer, and then a detective, so she felt like she had earned her peace. Especially after all the shit she’d been put through, but someone had different plans. And Artie’s life wasn’t quite done yet. In fact, it seemed like in the eyes of the creatures of this world, this was where she was always meant to be. The time she spent getting her ass handed to her in the other dimension? Just a warm up. And now she was expected to just…go along with what everyone else wanted her to do? Including magical beings who were responsible for taking her from one dimension to another. Artie felt like she was in over her head, even if there were several concerned, attractive knights around her. She wasn’t sure if she was going to run away from all the new responsibilities, or embrace them. She wasn’t a rule breaker by nature, but maybe now was the time to change?

Reincarnated as an Orphaned Dragon!

Facing the imminent danger of a demon invasion, the Prazia kingdom establishes orphanages to uncover hidden talents among its populace. Lena, now known as Lava, is reincarnated as a dragon and becomes an orphan after her mother goes missing. However, not every fantasy world is filled with raw plot armor. Reality can be difficult, and Lava is not immune to being a pawn in the plans of others. Features a unique word-based magic system, no skills or levels. ----- Sorry for how slow burning and random the beginning chapters are, I just kind of made up plausible nonsense to keep the story flowing. It wasn't until about ch.23 where inspiration struck and the story really started to pick up speed. The main reason things started so slow is that I don't like writing highly unlikely events to drive plot like an mc saving someone that just happens to be a noble. Keep in mind this has a more realistic theme than most isekai stories, even with power mc is not untouchable and actually has to make difficult choices. Sometimes, reality can be dark. It's also not a wake up as a dragon and then fight endless monsters kind of story either, I felt that was already done too many times and chose to go for a more intrigue and life themed story. This is my first work, and I think it's rather good for a first story. Trying to develop my writing style on this. First chapters might come off as kind of rushed, I didn't spend much time on backstory and what happened to her mother I just kind of rushed mc to her new family and that really came back on me later on in the story. Cover is AI generated (Except for the title)
