I am an unfortunate teen who died young in a house fire and entered the afterlife being only 17 years old. It wasn't as I would've expected it to be, instead of eternal darkness, I was placed inside a game, a game that's set in an abandoned city deprived of life and energy. In this game, I was assigned challenging tasks with a remarkably attractive reward at the end of the line, which is a pass back into life.

The last ring, the ring of the paragon, was made to rule them all.  Icon kept the ring of the paragon for himself and became a dictator. He ruled with an iron fist for many years. His was a reign of terror. But he was eventually vanquished by the collective effort of the world.  It has been 62 years since then. Icon is no more, but the damage he had done still remains. Earth-11 is still connected to Yggdrasil. The deadly games of the Tower of Destiny still remain, and the fight for the seven rings of immortality still continues.  Kelvin Thorn has just awakened his ability. It came at a good time too since he is running for his life. The ability he awakened saved him, but it came with a cost. He must climb the tower of destiny under the witness of the whole world and accumulate destiny, or he will die.  His situation is not unique. Everyone that awakens, which is mostly everyone, must climb the tower of destiny. It is one of the curses that Icon left behind before he died. A giant tree popped up in the middle of the Atlantic ocean covering the world in a strange new radiation and because of it, people began to change. First, there are the Chosen. These super humans have only slight physical changes and yet can manifest amazing elemental powers. Next, you have the Infected. These humans have experienced large scale body changes which range from animal adaptations to simply grotesque body decomposition. Most are still normal and sane humans who attempt to adapt to life while being shunned by others. There are some however that have grown deranged and think themselves the rulers of the world. Our MC lives a somewhat lonely life while sometimes being accompanied by his rather senile yet kind grandfather. He lives by the idea that he should just be air and not be noticed in the slightest. All of this goes ok until things start changing and Laz starts getting dragged around in many different directions.
