PROLOGUE: WRITING A SET OF all possible character strings. All possible books would be contained in that. Most unfortunately though, there is no guarantee whatsoever you would be able to find within it the book you were hoping for. It could be you might find a string of characters saying, “This is the book you were hoping for.” Like right here, now. But of course, that is not the book you were hoping for. I haven’t seen her since then. I think she’s most likely dead. After all, it has been hundreds of years. But then again, I also think this. Noticing her as she gazes intently into the mirror, the room in disarray; it is clear that centuries have flowed by, or some such. And she, perhaps, has finished applying her makeup, and she is getting up and is going out to look for me. Her eyes show no sign of taking in the fact that the house has been completely changed, destroyed around her. The change was gradual, continuing, and even long ago she was not very good at things like that. As far as she is concerned, that is not the sort of thing one has to pay attention to. Not that she is aware, but it seems so obvious, she doesn’t need to care about it. Have we drowned, are we about to drown, are we already finished drowning, are we not yet drowning? We are in one of those situations. Ofcourse, it could be that we will never drown. But think about it. I mean, even fish can drown. I remember her saying meanly, “If that’s the case, you must be the one from the past.” It is true of course. Everybody comes out of the past; it’s not that I’m some guy who comes from some particular past. Even when that is pointed out, though, she shows no sign of backing down. “It’s not as if I came out of some bizarro past,” she said. That’s how she and I met. Writing it down this way, it doesn’t seem like anything at all is about to happen, right? Between her and me, I mean. As if something could ever really happen. As if something continues to happen that might ever make something else happen. I am repeating myself, but I haven’t seen her since then. She promised me, with a sweet smile, that I would never see her again. For the short time we were together, we tried to talk about things that really meant something to us. Around that time there were a lot of things that were all mixed up, and it was not easy to sort out what was really real. There might be a pebble over there, and when you took your eyes off it it turned into a frog, and when you took your eyes off it again it turned into a horsefly. The horsefly that used to be a frog remembered it used to be a frog and stuck out its tongue to try to eat a fly, and then remembered it used to be a pebble and stopped and crashed to the ground. With all this going on, it’s really important to know what’s really real and what’s not. “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived a boy and a girl.” “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived boys and girls.” “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived no boy and no girl.” “Once upon a time…lived.” “Lived.” “Once upon a time.” From beginning to end, we carried on this back-and-forth process. For example, in this dialogue, we were somehow finally mutually able to comeup with this kind of compromise statement: “Once upon a time, somewhere, there lived a boy and a girl. There may have been lots of boys, and there may have been lots of girls. There may have been no boys at all, and there may have been no girls at all. There may even have been no one at all. At any rate there is little chance there were equal numbers of each. That is unless there had never been anybody at all anyway.” That was our first meeting, she and I, and of course it meant we would never see each other again. I was making my way in the direction she had come from, and she was headed in the direction I had come from, and this is a somewhat important point; you must realize this walking had to be,

THE GANG STAR

In the city of New Haven, where the streets were ruled by gangs and violence was a way of life, a young man named Axel rose to become a legend. Axel was just a teenager when he was forced to join the notorious gang, the "Red Vipers." He was small and scrawny, but he had a fierce determination to survive and thrive in the harsh world of gang life. As Axel navigated the treacherous landscape of gang politics and violence, he discovered that he had a natural talent for leadership. He quickly rose through the ranks of the Red Vipers, earning the respect and admiration of his fellow gang members. But Axel's success came at a cost. He was constantly at odds with the rival gang, the "Black Dragons," and their ruthless leader, Victor. The two gangs had been at war for years, and Axel's rise to power only fueled the flames of conflict. As the violence between the Red Vipers and the Black Dragons escalated, Axel found himself at the center of a maelstrom of gang warfare. He was forced to fight for his life on a daily basis, using his wits and his fists to survive. But despite the dangers and challenges of his life, Axel refused to give up. He was driven by a fierce determination to succeed, and to make a name for himself in the world of gang life. And then, one day, everything changed. Axel received a mysterious message from an unknown sender, offering him a chance to join a secret organization known only as "The Syndicate." The Syndicate was a mysterious and powerful group that operated in the shadows, pulling the strings of power in New Haven. They were rumored to be involved in everything from extortion and bribery to murder and mayhem. Axel was both intrigued and intimidated by the offer. He knew that joining The Syndicate would mean giving up his independence and his freedom, but he also knew that it could be the key to unlocking his true potential. As Axel weighed his options, he was confronted by Victor, the leader of the Black Dragons. Victor was determined to destroy Axel and the Red Vipers, and he would stop at nothing to achieve his goal. Axel knew that he had to make a decision, and fast. He could join The Syndicate and gain the power and protection he needed to take down Victor and the Black Dragons, or he could refuse the offer and risk everything to maintain his independence. In the end, Axel made the decision that would change his life forever. He accepted the offer from The Syndicate, and joined their ranks. As a member of The Syndicate, Axel was given access to resources and power that he never could have imagined. He was trained in the art of combat and strategy, and he was given the tools he needed to take down his enemies. But as Axel rose through the ranks of The Syndicate, he began to realize that there was more to the organization than met the eye. He discovered that The Syndicate was involved in a complex web of corruption and deceit, and that their true goals were far more sinister than he had ever imagined. Axel was torn between his loyalty to The Syndicate and his growing sense of unease. He knew that he had to make a choice, but he was unsure of what the consequences would be. As the stakes grew higher, Axel found himself at the center of a deadly game of cat and mouse. He was forced to use all of his skills and resources to stay one step ahead of his enemies, and to uncover the truth about The Syndicate. In the end, Axel's journey would take him to the very top of The Syndicate, where he would face off against the organization's ruthless leader. It would be a battle for control, and only one person could emerge victorious. Would Axel be able to overcome the odds and achieve his goals, or would he become the latest casualty of The Syndicate's deadly game? Only time would tell.

STAR STRUCK

Synopsis: My name is Seline Sylvester, and I’m a therapist. I started my career in hopes of helping others heal, of offering solace to those lost in their own minds. But little did I know, I was only running away from my own pain. My boyfriend, Adams, left me broken, and no amount of professional success could fill the emptiness he left behind. Then, everything changed when I was assigned to treat Jason Schneider. He’s not your typical patient—he’s a 32-year-old heir to a billion-dollar empire, seemingly impervious to everything I’ve ever encountered. Aloof, guarded, and carrying an air of mystery, Jason doesn’t fit the mold of someone who would seek therapy, much less need it. He’s more interested in playing games than talking about his feelings, and his wealth only makes him more untouchable. But I can’t help it. Something about him draws me in, a challenge I can’t resist. The more I try to understand Jason, the more secrets I uncover—secrets that make me question everything I thought I knew about myself and about the world I live in. As I dive deeper into his psyche, I realize I might be facing something far more dangerous than I ever imagined. I’m caught between my professional duty and the undeniable pull I feel toward him. Star Struck is my story—a journey of healing, discovery, and the fine line between helping someone and losing yourself in the process. Will I break through his walls? Or will I find myself unraveling in the process?
