I grew up in the Bay Area. My family took trips to the aquarium in Monterey where I was mesmerized by the sea animals. I realized that these large beasts would be the dominant species if we were aquatic creatures. When I was surfing at pleasure point in Santa Cruz, my leg got entangled in sea weed. It felt like the something had gripped me, so my mind rushed through all the dark things lurking beneath the water. This series was inspired by that event.

He used to be the 'little dumpling' in her eyes, that woman is so fickle, he'll never belive in her words ever again!
