Until that day.
Hired into a Gate clearance led by the famous Silver-ranked Climber in the Western Wastelands, Zane soon realised that the role she sought wasn’t the one she got.
Killed as a warning to those who disobeyed the tyrant Silver, she took too long to accept that in a world governed by the strong, she was nothing more than a disposable commodity.
As death closed in and the shadow of a reaper shrouded her consciousness, a blue screen appeared, followed by a metallic sound reverberating in her ears.
