The Cursebearers burden
In a world plunged into darkness after Pandora's Box is opened, Nikomedes, a fragile 17-year-old boy, is left to face the horrors unleashed upon the earth. The sun is gone, and in its place, endless shadows hang over a ruined world. Chaos reigns, as terrifying creatures roam freely, and ancient cities crumble under the weight of their destruction.
Nikomedes, once an ordinary boy with no real purpose, is thrust into this nightmarish world, hiding in the ruins of his hometown. As he cowers in fear, his thoughts spiral with self-loathing and despair, questioning why he was born only to be useless in the face of such overwhelming destruction. When he hears something scratching at his window—something from beyond the normal world—his heart freezes, and the reality of his weakness sinks in.
However, in the midst of his fear, Nikomedes will have to confront his deepest insecurities and decide whether he will continue to shrink from the world or face the terrifying creatures, the factions fighting for control, and the darkness that threatens to consume all of humanity. Can he find strength in his fragility, or will he remain lost in the shadow of his own self-doubt?
In this dark, ancient Greek-inspired tale, Nikomedes’s journey becomes one of survival, transformation, and the question of what it means to rise from the ashes of a world undone by the opening of Pandora’s Box.
