But the more time I spend with her, the more difficult it is to separate the act from how I feel about her. Amelia is strong and driven, but she is also becoming more and more fragile because of lies and betrayals she can't get away from at every corner. Every turn shows how deep the plots go and how badly her enemies want her to fail as they deal with corporate spying, break-ins, and constant threats. But when I find that one of her closest friends has been hurting her from within, I understand the stakes are higher than we ever expected. In our final battle with her betrayers, just when I think we’ve finally won, a new threat appears, one we never saw coming. And as I stand beside her, I can’t help but wonder: will my loyalty be enough to keep us both alive, or has our trust come too late?

This little book, this short collection of short stories, wasn't made to conquer the world. It was created to send a message, to reach people, to whisper in their ears with just one short phase: "I exist". All these stories hace just that in common, that whisper.

Voices: A woman finds herself trapped in her mind, coming to terms with her own personal horrors. The Myth of the Star Luminary: A Grand father tells his grandson the tell of Lumi the Star who fades. His grand son feels he is inadequate.

James contracted a mouse on accident. He meant to tame a song bird with the blood line of a pheonix. But the enterprising little mouse jumped in the way at the crucial moment and James’ blood dropped onto the mouse instead. A person’s first pet defines their whole life. It could be years of cultivation before he would be strong enough to gain a second pet! It wasn’t too terrible though. This kind of thing was normal for a looser like James. No one was upset. Instead they nodded their head. “Yes, just what I would expect from James.” “It makes sense, someone has to be the cautionary tale.” “Oh! Is his mouse going to breed a whole colony? Yikes! I am glad I am not his Mom…” James heard it all. It turns out that his senses were attuned when he tamed the mouse and now he could hear, smell, taste, and see just a little bit better. Granted he was now near sighted and he was especially attuned to high pitched sounds, but that was what bonding a mouse meant.
