Instead of learning how to fight he spend his childhood playing games. And in this warlike Kingdom that in itself is almost a sin. This came back to bite him when the kingdom destroyed and he lost almost all of his protection. He promised to get stronger, but it was too late and thus he died with regrets. So when he wakes up in his 12 year old body he desideds to set things right. This book is a complete mess and is still a work in progress, but chapter one is complete, so you really should read it.
