Hulk Wolverine

Noble Blood, Convict Chains. Based on a true story.

Set against the sweeping backdrop of 19th-century England and Australia, Collin Peacock: Noble Blood, Convict Chains is the compelling story of Collin Peacock, a man born into the shadows of nobility, fighting to carve his place in a world that constantly pushes him aside. Born on December 13, 1805, Collin and his twin sister, Mary, are the illegitimate children of Jane Peacock, a commoner, and Lord Peter Campbell III, a wealthy sugar plantation owner from Jamaica. Though their father acknowledged them in his will, societal norms prevented him from offering more than financial support, leaving them to grow up in the quiet village of Little Fencote, Yorkshire. Despite his noble blood, Collin was a man of modest means, working as a stockman and poultry seller. His strong will and keen intellect, sharpened by an education his mother secured for him, set him apart from others in his village. Life for Collin took a devastating turn in 1836 when he was falsely accused of receiving stolen pigeons, a crime instigated by his father’s family, the Campbells, who had stopped paying the small sum left to Collin and Mary after Lord Peter’s death. The accusation led to his arrest and a harrowing trial at the Old Bailey. Despite his protestations of innocence, Collin was sentenced to seven years of hard labor in Australia, torn away from his wife Ellen and their four daughters. The journey to Australia aboard a prison hulk was nothing short of a nightmare. Collin’s name was misspelled as “Colling Peacock,” an obvious clerical error that became a new identity in his convict records. Yet, even as he faced the brutal conditions of penal life, Collin found ways to maintain his dignity. He used his education to teach other convicts how to read and write, and his skills as a horseman earned him respect among both prisoners and guards. When news of Ellen’s death reached him from England, Collin’s grief was profound, but it also marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Upon completing his sentence, Collin married Jane Brennan in Australia, and together they started a family. With his indomitable spirit, Collin seized the opportunities available to him, acquiring land and building an agricultural empire in Laidley, a town that would later become part of Queensland. Collin Peacock: A story of resilience, betrayal, and redemption. It chronicles one man’s journey from the green fields of Yorkshire to the harsh, untamed landscape of Australia. Collin’s life is a testament to the power of perseverance in the face of overwhelming odds, as he rises from the ashes of a fractured family legacy to create a legacy of his own.

When did My Tears Ricochet?

Wanna escape reality? Yeah, I got nothin' of that. Not a fan of romance nor fantasy, just someone who wants to write something depressing— Hey, if I'm miserable, you should too. So here's the story of how I died— yep, major spoiler. Yes, I'm narrating my own story, so what? I'm also gonna talk shit about myself, yeah... Who does that? Me, beyotch. I have a love and hate relationship with myself. My story is like a rollercoaster ride— cliche isn't it? Probably. If you want to cry, and then laugh afterwards like an idiot or someone who spent their whole day scrolling on TikTok with different context, you'll probably like this. I was never abused when I was a kid— you might be asking "Hm, how is this a depressing story if the main character was never abused when she was a kid?"— First of all, that's horrible, (Hulk, 2022). I mean, you guys expecting a literal kid to experience shit. Second, that's not the only thing you should expect. As I grew up, I thought "Damn, what a bummer, I've been looking forward to being an adult... lay around, do nothing, stare at the ceiling, and become a freeloader."— I realized that is the literal definition of someone who's diagnosed with depression or some other mental disorder or just lazy af. I was hit by Reality driving a bulldozer. I lost everything because of a huge mistake. I want it back... I want it all back. I want my life back but there's nothing I can do now. Looking back, I think I should've been nicer to everyone... but maybe it's for the better, since I'm already dead, they're not gonna have a hard time moving on from losing me since I'm a piece of shit. Do you still want to read this? Oh, no, it will not end with me dying. Wanna find out the ending of this? Yeah, me too. Sit back, relax, and read.

English-language werewolf novel from the mid-to-late 1980s

The book begins much as you described. An anthropologist is listening to members of a primitive tribe talk about how a werewolf had been killing people, twelve years ago, in sprees which always occurred during a full moon, until the tribal shaman was able to come up with a way to kill the monster. The scholar is interested in letting them talk, but personally suspects the "werewolf" was something like a victim of rabies who foamed at the mouth and seemed inhumanly strong as he went on a rampage -- although it is odd that he would survive long enough to launch three killing sprees at monthly intervals. The scholar silently speculates that perhaps there were multiple rabid attackers, in a monthly cycle -- each new one having been infected by the previous before he died of his disease, and only the last of them was somehow trapped and killed by the men of the tribe, who then blamed this "monster" for all of the previous killings. The scholar is trying to be polite, but evidently his skepticism shows through. The shaman is offended at being patronized by a white man who thinks he already knows all the answers. The shaman had kept a souvenir of the werewolf, dried out and in powdered form, believing it still contained the power to create another werewolf if need be. The shaman (called "Ugalde") puts that special powder into a bottle of whiskey and then . . . With the swiftness of a man half his age, the Indian leaped from a sitting position onto the other's chest, as if he were pinning him in some friendly athletic contest. But the crazed expression covering his face and the keenness of the knife blade removed any trace of ordinary competition from the action. Ugalde sat the bottle viciously on the ground next to the visitor's face and tipped the neck of it toward his mouth. "Drink," he ordered. "Ugalde!" the man cried frantically. Visions of wriggling microbes being revitalized by the liquor flooded his mind. Could any life survive for a dozen years in such a dehydrated state? Yes, yes, viruses could live for centuries! "What in the name of God are you doing?" A sneer replaced the sullen look the older man had worn. "Your god! You believe your eye, white man, and only that, so drink and see what the devils you don't know can cause a living spirit to become! Drink, or I will cut your throat!" Then a good chunk of the book deals with brutal murders taking place, always on the night of a full moon, and various characters getting interested in the investigation, for various reasons. At first, there's a serious lack of surviving eyewitnesses to describe the mysterious attacker to the cops, but gradually the evidence accumulates that something strongly resembling a Hollywood-style werewolf is involved in these homicides. We readers, of course, have a very good idea of how that happened. Then another large chunk of the book deals with what happens in one horrible night after the anthropologist has been taken into custody. (I think he finally surrendered himself to the police, voluntarily, and described everything he could remember about the incident with the shaman, and what's happened since then on the nights with full moons in the sky.) You are correct that becoming a werewolf appeared to be a type of communicable disease, although I can't recall if it was specifically established, during the novel, to be a "germ" or "virus" or what. You are also correct that silver was particularly effective against a werewolf. Other weapons could pierce its flesh, but it appeared to recover very rapidly from such wounds. (Sort of like Wolverine's mutant "healing factor" in the X-Men comics and movies.)
