An Alchemist's Assistant
Jack Ryder is a young apprentice to a skilled but mysterious Alchemist in the towering city of Arcfall, a vertical metropolis divided into levels. Each level, from the dark slums of the Ankles to the sunlit Ribcage, reflects a starkly different way of life. For Jack, living and working in the Ribcage is a dream come true—a far cry from the harsh Ankles where he grew up.
Jack spends his days gathering rare ingredients and delivering potions, always eager to impress the Alchemist and learn more about her craft. But during a routine trip to the Ankles, he finds the area eerily empty and is stopped by soldiers searching for a dangerous fugitive. While trying to escape, Jack and the Alchemist discover a strange, dark object hidden in an alley. It’s unlike anything they’ve ever seen, pulsing with an unsettling energy that neither of them can explain.
As Jack continues his work, he begins to uncover signs that something is very wrong in Arcfall. The soldiers aren’t just searching for a fugitive—they’re guarding secrets that could upend the city. Strange phenomena are appearing in the lower levels, and whispers of rebellion are rising from the shadows.
Jack must figure out the truth behind the mysterious object, the soldiers’ mission, and how it all connects to Arcfall’s future. As the city faces an uncertain fate, Jack is forced to choose: stay safe and keep his place in the Ribcage, or risk everything to protect the people and the city he loves.
