Plot will mostly stay the same (at least till Shippuden), but I won't repeat any scenes/dialogues that took place in the manga (as I'm assuming you've already read it). A novel set in the end times that tells the story of the protagonist's survival and healing in the end times. ‌ ‌ In the context of the end times, the zombie crisis quickly disintegrated the order of human society, and the protagonist was bitten in the early stage of the crisis and almost turned into a zombie. Fortunately, he was found and treated by one of the survivors, Lin Duoduo, and kept consciousness. Lin Duoduo is wary of the identity of the protagonist, but gradually through communication to establish a strange "friendship". As time goes on, the protagonist gradually ADAPTS to the life of the last days and tries to survive by planting, hunting and scavenging with Lin Duoduo. In this world, although the zombies are decaying and powerless, they still pose a certain threat to human beings, and the emergence of mutated animals brings greater challenges.
