The New Great Song Dynasty
In 1127 AD, the Northern Song Dynasty fell. Shortly after, Zhao Gou, the ninth prince of the royal family, ascended the throne in Shangqiu amidst great public anticipation, inheriting the Song dynasty and renaming the era to Jianyan.
However, within just three months, Li Gang was dismissed as Prime Minister, Chen Dong was executed, Yue Fei was expelled from the army, Zong Ze was abandoned in Dongjing, and the anti-Jin plans in Hebei were completely dismantled. After all this effort, the civil and military officials of the court finally reached a consensus: to support Emperor Zhao’s grand strategy of retreating south to Huai regions and eventually to Yangzhou for the fight against the Jin.
But just as the journey began, after paying homage to the Daoist patriarch at the Mingdao Palace in Bozhou, Emperor Zhao stumbled into the infamous Nine Dragon Well. When he emerged, he no longer recognized who his trusted aides were!
"I want to resist the Jin! But where are my confidants?!"
This is the heartfelt cry of a soul from 900 years later, who, after reluctantly inheriting the name of the Great Song, must now lead this court and this nation onto a new path.
