FALLING INLOVE WITH MY HOSTAGE
Benjamin Palmer is a 40-year-old Khoisan man from Cape Town, he has been in the army for years and has been a legitimate sniper, perhaps the South African army has ever had. He just grew tired of being in the military and one day the kernel demanded him not to shoot but he didn't listen and just went for the record. A long story short, he got sentenced and punished for his deeds and could not work in the military again. He could care less, he wanted out anyway so he was a happy guy in the end. But now he has no income and needs some cash to survive. Benjamin Palmer has a bloodline he doesn't know. His father Robert Kriel was a gangster in his youth years, and so was his father's father, a generation of gangster's bloodline passed on. Benjamin does not know that cause he never knew his father and his mother refuses to speak about him. His mother Lilly Palmer has a heart of an angel and the community loved her, quiet and soft-spoken and kind. So, Benjamin as it happened in from the bloodline of the Kriel family the boys always inherit the bad side of their father, so deep down Benjamin, there was this drive, a gangster drive. A mixture of a gangster and a soft heart, so Benjamin might have that drive, the hunger of a gangster but he had a soft spot for people. Friends knew him as Benjie. One day while doing window shopping, he saw Timberland boots which he badly wanted but he did not have the money. He went home, daydreaming of how he wished he had that money. When Benjie's mother sends him to the shop to buy bread and eggs, he bumped into an old friend called Pottie, his surname is Potgieter but friends call him Pottie. Pottie is a childhood friend, and Benjie knows him as a boy who was always game for anything, a real bad influence, he always has silly ideas of climbing over people's walls and stealing their fruits hanging in the trees. One day when the school was on an outing, they went for a hike, they passed a farm and Pottie gave the idea to crawl underneath the fence and steal the farm's grapes. Now Pottie too is 40 years old and still very much the same. Pottie is a Caucasian male and fat too. Benjie laughed at him to see how fat his friend became. They had a long conversation catching up on all the years they have missed and then the question came …
Pottie: So? Are you still in the military?
Benjie: Nah brah, don't you know? I was fired, they made a case against me, said I went against their order, said I killed innocent people, so ja, now I'm at home, what about you?

At first, Benjie laughed and thought he was joking and then he realised that his friend is serious. He tried to tell his friend on how crazy he is but somehow Pottie convinced him …

And that is how Benjie got involved with heist. Since Pottie introduced him to a team of five, Benjie got to be involved with three successful heists which gave him a few dollars in his pockets.
