Discotheque Pastel Palettes

Beast Monster System

500 years ago on Earth, the Apocalypse doomed life on the Blue Planet. Humanity was in a pit of hell as the Strike of Zombies, Mutation of Animals, and Appearance of Monsters happened altogether. Humankind was forced to leave their native planet for an indefinite period. For hundreds of years, humans lived in Arcadia — a planet so far away from Earth that the only way to reach it was through the Portal. For hundred, humans coexist with live the aardeans — a humanoid race native to the Pastel Planet. After more than three centuries, conflicts between humans and aardeans spark the idea of war. Genocide of humans has always been the clear end to the war. To save humanity from yet another doom, the Leaders secretly formed the Saviors and send them to Earth. Each of the ten members of the Saviors is granted a System for the Mission, including Aksel, who is granted the Beast Monster System. To his father, Aksel is an embarrassment; but he wants to change that — so he joins the Saviors. He determines to end the Apocalypse on Earth so that humanity could return to their native planet and prevent the war against the aardeans. Aksel goes on the Mission optimistically, without knowing what could possibly happen once he set foot on the Blue Planet. I Won't Let The Ghoul Duke Go Hungry!

Chef Zoe Kim, hired by the (dead) heroine from the book she read once, entered the novel and possessed the body of a side character to do one job: save the abandoned Crown Princess. But in the original story, the character that she possessed died at the hands of Duke Isaak Viotto--- the ghoul duke. Yes, GHOUL, a creature that eats human flesh. Regardless of what the duke is, she can't avoid him because he's the key to her success. Luckily, she just knows how to get to his good graces. 'THE WAY TO A MAN'S HEART IS THROUGH HIS STOMACH,' right? She's a chef and the ghoul duke has an awful eating habit. And she's about to fix that, With the help of her lovely pastel pink chef's knife, she's determined to feed Isaak Viotto until he's wrapped around her finger. Wait, no, that's excessive. The last thing that Zoe needs is a ghoul duke obsessed with her (god-tier cooking skills)! *** [ORIGINAL BOOK COVER. Artwork commissioned by sola_cola from Artist CJ.] *** (EXCERPT 1) [I didn't expect to meet Isaak Viotto, the ghoul duke, as soon as I entered this novel.] Scratch that. Zoe should say that she didn’t expect to find him in a dark alley, but there she was. Isaak Viotto was crouching down in the corner while holding a dog. Considering the fact that he had his mouth wide open as if he was about to bite the dog, it was obvious that she just interrupted his meal. He only closed his mouth when he felt her presence, then he turned to her. [Oh no, he's hot!] Isaak Viotto snarled, baring his fangs at her. “What are you looking at?” “Your violet eyes,” Zoe said without thinking. “They look yummy.” “Huh?” “I like putting violet pansies in my salad,” she explained. “They’re delicious.” He just looked at her as if she was crazy. She knew that Duke Isaak Viotto was a GHOUL and ghouls, apparently, eat human flesh. But... [Dang, he's really hot.] “Give me the dog,” Zoe told the ghoul duke. “I’ll make you steak tartare in return.” [So, how did I end up in this situation again?] *** (EXCERPT 2) “You shouldn’t be too rough on animals even if you plan to eat them,” Zoe lectured the ghoul duke that she caught in the middle of trying to eat a dog--- alive! “There’s a humane way of taking their lives, you know?” Isaak Viotto, the ghoul duke that allegedly eats human flesh, just looked at her with glowing violet eyes. “You’re not scared of me,” he said bluntly. “Are you not afraid of getting eaten?” “Literally or sexually?” “What?” “What?” Zoe asked back. “I thought we were flirting.”

egg and I .... winning the heart

1946, Betty McDonald’s whimsical autobiography was as popular as baked beans; now it’s almost completely forgotten, but, tellingly, still in print. Alas, after an hour or two with The Egg & I, it was excruciatingly obvious that Betty McDonald’s book is not a classic. On some weeks, there might be as many as five competing challenges for each nonfiction slot, but rarely as straightforward as this. Literary classics cluster on the north face of Parnassus. For this vertiginous terrain there are different sherpas. Italo Calvino says that a classic is “a book that has never finished what it wants to say”. Ezra Pound identifies “a certain eternal and irresponsible freshness”; TS Eliot, much more astringent, observed in The Sacred Wood that “no modern language can hope to produce a classic, in the sense I have called Virgil a classic”. Alan Bennett wryly notes: “Definition of a classic: a book everyone is assumed to have read and often thinks they have.” Among nonfiction classics, the most treacherous category is that creature beloved of publishers – “the contemporary classic”. A second cousin to that notorious impostor is the “instant classic”. Such books will have been judged by slippery criteria: popular and literary critical fashion, a changing marketplace and new technology, bestseller lists and hype. In the past 100 years, a familiar palette of blurbish adjectives has given shape and colour to a moving target: provocative, outrageous, prophetic, groundbreaking, funny, disturbing, revolutionary, moving, inspiring, life-changing, subversive… a portrait of sir walter raleigh wearing a brocaded and beaded doublet The 100 best nonfiction books: No 99 – The History of the World by Walter Raleigh (1614) Read more This list raises another troubling question: is nonfiction “the new fiction”? There are some good writers who will argue that this is so, but I believe that nonfiction (which can sometimes successfully bring together many genres) is not, strictly speaking, a genre of its own. Creatively – yes – using narrative techniques borrowed from fiction, it’s possible to give certain kinds of nonfiction the aura of a distinct new genre. Yet, at the end of the day, “nonfiction” fractures into time-hallowed categories such as philosophy, memoir, history, reportage and poetry (see below), etc. This is particularly true of “nonfiction classics” from the 18th and 19th centuries, titles such as A Treatise of Human Nature by David Hume or On Liberty by JS Mill. By that yardstick, a recent classic will be quite distinct, chiefly because its literary and cultural milieu is so different

Del CEO a concubina

``` Yan Zheyun estaba predestinado a ser un ganador. Sus padres estaban en la lista de Forbes, fue el mejor de su clase al graduarse en la universidad más prestigiosa del país y la guinda del pastel fue ser votado como el "chico césped" cuatro años seguidos por sus compañeros. Y ahora, con apenas veinticinco años, Yan Zheyun era el orgulloso presidente y CEO de su propia empresa tecnológica. Pero lo que debería haber sido el día más feliz de su vida se convirtió en el peor cuando escuchó una extraña voz robótica mientras cruzaba la calle para tomar un café, solo porque no podía esperar a que su secretaria regresara de la sala de fotocopias. [INFORME DE ERROR #193842347: ALMA DE OTRO MUNDO DETECTADA. INICIANDO SECUENCIA DE DEPORTACIÓN.] Y luego murió. En un accidente de coche muy aburrido, muy común y corriente. …excepto que tal vez no lo hizo. Lo primero que Yan Zheyun pensó después de abrir los ojos y encontrarse en un dormitorio que parecía el set de uno de esos dramas del palacio interior fue: "Vaya, el café no valía la pena." Lo segundo que pensó después de darse cuenta de que ahora se encontraba en una novela histórica BL y había transmigrado al cuerpo de una trágica belleza que estaba (a punto de) ser utilizada y maltratada por sus múltiples amantes fue: "Debo haber abierto los ojos con la técnica equivocada, déjame intentarlo de nuevo... no, todavía sigo aquí. Bueno. Mierda." De CEO a esclavo de poca monta, Yan Zheyun no podía creer su suerte. Atrapado en un mundo extranjero y rodeado de tops locos (respectivamente conocidos como "El Amigo de la Infancia", "El Hijo del General", "El Príncipe Heredero", "Algún Otro Príncipe", "Ese Duque Espeluznante", etc.), Yan Zheyun se dio cuenta de que su experiencia de un día como CEO no lo había preparado adecuadamente para esta nueva vida de miseria. Pero no era de los que se rinden sin luchar, así que… Yan Zheyun se decidió resueltamente a mantenerse alejado de la aterradora línea romántica, intentar escribir una nueva línea argumental política y, de paso, abrazar algunos muslos gruesos, ganarse el favor de los poderosos. Y en una monarquía dinástica, ¿qué muslos serían mejor elección para abrazar que los del propio emperador? Liu Yao: …Este Soberano te permite abrazar otras partes también. Pareja: - ¡Emperador Top que parece serio pero en secreto es amable! VS ¡Esclavo Bottom que parece un conejo pero en secreto es un zorro! - NO es harem, toda la historia es 1v1 Advertencias: - Esta novela trata algunos temas duros que surgen como resultado de la esclavitud y un sistema de castas.
