Stone Falls Odin'S Raven

The Raven's Basilisk

Izime finally grew to appreciate Psyis' ability to not ask stupid questions for five minutes, wondering if she'd manage a sixth. The probability of it dropping rapidly as yet another cup of the very drinkable and thus very dangerous liquor was thrown back all at once.        Purple face turning towards him as circling shades of blue worked across Psyis cheeks she opened her mouth and fell short at five minutes and twenty-three seconds, "I-um..did you ever go to the movies?"        Izime stood moving to snatch the cup away, or he would have. His hand flickered as it passed through the metal, his eyes glared moving between the thermos and the obviously inebriated Psyis. "That is enough drinking for you." With a frustrated huff, Izime stood walking straight through the pilot's seat and door to the cabin of the ship. Leaving Psyis blinking eyes not working, unable to see the drone that voiced the AI as it bumped against the door just as confused as she was.        Psyis too drunk to think about just what she'd been asking and about who. The thessian's personal question still hung in the air as she considered how often Izime seemed to not answer when it came to her.        "What'd I say?" Psyis looked around the now empty room, a bit past tipsy in her rush to find the courage to discover Izime's past. Blinking a bit wondering what had been wrong with talking about Bell or going to the movies.        The number of cups and direction she'd yanked the conversation quickly burying Psyis under their combined effects. The thessian was left sitting alone and a bit confused, only knowing that something beyond the liquor in her hands was the cause.  Hadn't Izime been the one who'd asked for the mulligan?        Glancing down at the thermos in her hands, Psyis chewed over the thought and all that came with it. The liquor not having any answers, she looked back out the window. ((Posted on www.webnovel.com , www.booksie.com and royal road where I update sooner with larger chapters. When darkness falls in love

Excerpt* As Cian removed his jacket, revealing a serpent-like tattoo on his chest, a chill ran down her spine. “Who sent you?” she asked, her voice quivering as she clutched the sheets tightly around her. Cian smirked, “Which insignificant creature would dare to command me?” Confused, she glanced at the doors, praying for someone to walk in and save her from this dangerous stranger. “Then why are you here?” she managed to ask, her heart pounding in her chest. Cian casually tossed his jacket onto the nearest chair, revealing his muscular chest and the glowing, serpent-like tattoo that coiled around it. “For you, sweetheart,” he replied, his voice deep and seductive. She stared into his piercing, emerald-green eyes, awed by their luminescence. They seemed to pierce right through her, illuminating her heart and igniting a fire within her that she couldn’t quite extinguish. As Cian moved closer, he bent down to look her directly in the eyes, his gaze penetrating. “Marry me,” he whispered, his voice low and dangerous. She recoiled in horror, pushing his hand away as she tried to back away from him. “Pardon me, my Lord, but I must refuse your offer,” she said, her voice shaking with fear. Cian let out a low, sinister laugh as he pulled off his shirt, revealing the full extent of the tattoo that seemed to writhe and twist on his skin. He crawled onto the bed, pinning her down as he loomed over her. She struggled against him, trying to break free from his grip, but he was too strong. He leaned in close, his breath hot against her skin as he whispered, “Sweetheart, what is mine is mine, and what is yours is mine.” “She froze, her heart racing as she realized the danger she was in and how ridiculously aroused she was getting. Cian, with his piercing gaze and devilish grin, knew exactly what he was doing.

Lord Raven's Court

In the year 556 of the Runtallian Calendar, a war broke out in the eastern frontier of the Kingdom of Runtallia between the eastern overlord, Duke Gaverone Walruse of Regalia, and the barbarian chief-thane known as Dariun Drunzelle of the Shiradonii tribe, one of the Four Great Tribes of Norsmund, a nation that borders the Kingdom, deemed to be the land of brutes and savages. As the Duke of Regalia marches with his army to defend the disputed land of Kurlon, the barbarians have taken such an opportune moment to launch another incursion near the eastern border of Regalia near the town of Flendle, with the intention of dividing his army. However, despite accepting the town and the surrounding local lords' territories as lost cause in the war in favor of Kurlon– a newly discovered territory bountiful with veins of iron and other minerals– the Duke tasks his third son, Lord Velmund Walruse, along with his retinue, the Order of the Raven Knights, to fend off the attack. Now faced with the plight of defending the border town against a 5,000-strong Norsmundi army with his few yet skilled knights, along with an ill-equipped and undermanned militia, Lord Velmund has no choice but to fulfill his duty as a noble, relying upon his wits and his few but capable retainers to survive his first battle at the tender age of sixteen summers and winters. Contrary to his timid, youthful, and innocent appearance, however, lies his sly and scheming nature, evident by his fondness of dark magical arts specializing in illusion spells. Nevertheless, he himself has no idea of what he is capable of, and what he is destined to become. Meanwhile, further east at the frontier with Norsmund, a plot hatches to ensnare the Duke within the clutches of his treacherous vassals. Not only his life is threatened by these schemes, but his sons Theo and Varus as well. With this scheme put into motion, the Duke and Velmund's siblings, Varus and Theo, would taste fate's twisted humor, with the former meeting his demise in a blaze of glory amidst the field of battle, and the latter two vanishing in incidents shrouded by mysteries. With the death of the patriarch of Regalia and his heirs' disappearance, the young lord who was initially third in line for the succession of the ducal seat became its temporary occupant. And thus, the tale of him and his court begins… CHAPTER RELEASE: January 1st at 12:00 UTC

Carsa(The Black Stone)

The story revolves around "Carsa," a kingdom burdened by poverty and its worship of a sacred black stone called "Aspera." Believed to be a divine blessing, the stone has only brought suffering and sacrifice to the kingdom’s people, including Alfero, the protagonist. Alfero, raised in extreme poverty, loses his father, a guard protecting the stone, and his mother to starvation. His sister, Althea, also falls victim to the kingdom’s misplaced devotion to the stone. Alfero sees the stone not as a symbol of divinity but as a curse that has robbed him of everything. He plans to steal Aspera, enlisting the help of his sister Althea and his friend Ragna. They devise an intricate scheme to create an illusion of divine movement during a religious ceremony, leveraging the kingdom’s blind faith in the stone. The plan succeeds temporarily, but complications arise, leading to Althea’s capture and execution by a divine emissary, Rix. Her sacrifice enables Alfero and Ragna to escape with the stone. At the border, a conflict ensues between Alfero and Ragna over selling the stone. Alfero, consumed by grief and rage, kills Ragna, realizing the stone’s immense but meaningless weight as a symbol of sacrifice and suffering. Alone, he reflects on the devastating cost of his quest, ultimately confronting the futility of the stone’s so-called divine significance. The story ends with Alfero back in his home, holding the stone that has destroyed his life. In a symbolic act, he acknowledges its worthlessness, yet he remains shackled by the weight of its legacy. The stone, embodying a meaningless blessing, stands as a tragic reminder of a world that venerates emptiness at the cost of human life and dignity.
