Kellen Goff

Kellen Woods grew up never knowing a normal world. By the time he could walk, his mother and father had already sealed several serious gates that threatened the safety of his hometown. By the time his sister was born, they were famous worldwide. So the world held their breath for when Kellen and his sister came of age, waiting to see what kind of power they would awaken. His sister was just like his mom, same power, same class, while Kellen, woke up one day to find out what it meant to be special in a family the world watched. But in the worst way. Awakening weaker then your powerful parents wasn’t unheard of, but when your younger sister awakened at the same class as your parent, anyone would feel inferior. And Kellen, never one to ask for hand outs, left the comfort and safety of his hometown to become better than the weak brat everyone thought he was. Kellen went to the front lines, to where the gates normally broke out. From there, Kellen worked hard, and then worked some more until no one could doubt that he was good at his job. He got so good that even with his lower class, people would still hire him to help. But Kellen never took it to heart. He had learned a valuable lesson on the front lines. Classification only meant shit if you walked back out of the gate. Otherwise, shut your mouth and listen to those with more experience. They determined who made it out alive or not. But Kellen was tired now. He had gotten everything out of his system, and the fast paced life on the front lines didn’t suit him anymore. Now, he wanted to go home, buy a house, maybe find a nice man to settle down with, and live a normal life. All the while, the yellow eyes he’d met on the front lines haunted him, no matter how much he tried to forget about them. Especially since the Esper they were attached to refused to let him go.

Kellen Celric, born a noble with the Mark of Demons. Kellen isn't like his noble house of prestigious mages with power far beyond that of which Kellen could ever hope to reach in 3 lifetimes. Kellen is dealing with a problem without answers, the connection with demons has ruined his life without him even knowing. A grudge begins to slowly form against his fellow test subjects, over the many years of abuse and experimentation, before they receive the supposed "pity" of a Goddess for the inhumane acts imposed on them and are transported to another world. However, this new world turns out to be very similar to his last with the many secrets, lies, and manipulation hidden behind the guise of reality. The mortal pawns struggle, the gods face their own trails amongst their unceasing conflicts, and Kellen forges the path of a celestial marauder. With the help of a ghostly patron, a bloodthirsty demon, and his own sheer will, can Kellen finally break away from the chains of his cruel fate, or will he be shackled down once again into the abyss of his terrible past? —————— Disclaimer: Some themes present in the story may be considered dark or gruesome; Protagonist continues to get stronger, but often considers himself weak due to past trauma (Will he get passed this at some point? How does one survive on an island infested with man-eating monsters? Figure out where to hide? Make a raft that can hold one or two people at most, and get the hell off the island. Then, hope for the best when making landfall on a much more inaccessible peninsula and pray it doesn't have more of those man-eating monsters. However, that's when Colton Malta's luck really ran out. He discovered he'd gone from a modern-day world to something from a novel or a manga. In fact, he recognized the setting. Delusions abound, and characters come to life that he'd only read about in comic form. For those people, the world they worked and lived in was real. Colton, on the other hand, just wanted to figure out what happened to him and the other people who'd been thrown into a lifeboat and left to die. That's when he encountered someone who knew him from his distant childhood past when he was a naïve youngster. Kellen Jaeger. Similar in age to Colton, he remembered him well. However, life had altered them both, and not for the better. Now, they had to cooperate or possibly die without returning to the world they'd come from.
