COLLIDING HEARTS: THE SHADOW OF THE SERPENT

In this conglomerate of stars in a distant galaxy, there exists a rich and advanced civilization. The empire of this star cluster is a perfect blend of the Persian and Roman empires, with elements of magic and highly advanced technology. Governed with a balance of justice and strictness, life in the imperial palace was surrounded by luxury, conspiracies, and conquests. For Prince Darius, everything was limited to that closed world of luxury, cars, spaceships, horses, and he saw nothing beyond it. But everything changes on the day he returns from a victorious military campaign, after an overt war. As the royal entourage arrives, he spots a young woman in the crowd that greets them—a beauty without equal, saving an elderly woman from being trampled by the royal cavalry. They exchange a look of enchantment and flirtation, leaving the young prince captivated. The time for his coming-of-age rite is approaching, and soon he will need to choose a bride. Carolyna Roxanna is a hard-working, dreamy, and poor young woman who dislikes the current state of the empire. But her greatest passion is nursing: she works three part-time jobs to save up for college and support her family. Secretly, she considers the nobility useless. The impossible happens: she is selected for an intervention program and ends up working in a popular restaurant frequented by the nobility. The worlds of these two are about to collide. "God...when are they coming for little Avry....the caretaker who usually comes for her has taken far too long now" Eva wonders as she looks at the six year old little girl beside her. The little girl yawns from tiredness. Eva sighed heavily and looked at the little girl beside her with a light smile. "Hey Avry.....can I ask you something" Eva asks gently. Avry nods her head softly as her big adorable eyes stare at her teacher. "Do you wanna come home with me....it's getting pretty late and I can't leave you here" Avry's eyes sparkled from excitement. "Yes Miss Eva....I wanna come with you" Eva smiles brightly but she can't help but scowl inside "What kind of people forget about a little girl at school to such hours" Eva checked her watch and saw that it was eight thirty pm and the school had practically closed. 'Huhhhh...' ...................... But little did Eva know that this little action of care and responsibility had already changed her life. Eva sat quietly in her living room and checked her watch. It was nine twenty and no one had called about Avry Walker from the school yet. She had informed the school that she would take Avry home to atleast have something to eat and rest. They had allowed her since she stayed quite close to the school and had a respectable personality. Suddenly Eva heard a knock on her door and glanced at Avry who was watching cartoons slightly. She got up and walked towards the door. She peeked through the peep hole of her apartment door and saw a man. He was completely shrouded in darkness and beside him stood another man. Eva couldn't make out their faces at all since it was dark outside. Eva picked up the baseball bat next to the door and slowly opened the door. A chilling gush of cold wind immediately brushed against her skin. Eva didn't know whether it was because of the cold rain outside or that indifferent cold stare that the man with the black investigator hat gave her. And still Eva couldn't make out his face since he held his head low. Eva glanced at the other man who stood their calmly like a faithful assistant. He was quite good looking. "Who are you" Eva asked as her grip on the bat tightened. The assistant like man smiled calmly but didn't answer her question "We're here for Miss Avry" Eva looked at them suspiciously but suddenly Avry's soft but tired voice came from behind. "Big brother.....you're here" Eva glanced at the man whom the words had been directed to and she saw the man who had been holding his head low lift it up. Since the light from the living room could now fall on his face, Eva saw him clearly. Eva immediately froze in amazement and her heart had slowed but it beat hard as she looked at that ethereal face. .............. From that day, Eva had a feeling that nothing in her life would remain the same. Join Eva as she unlocks dark and dangerous secrets about this mysterious man. Lustful Sun God

Vlad is born with supreme talent, numerous resources at his disposal and a powerful father to back him up, he had everything to ensure his path and stand on top of the divine plane without any difficulty. He is certainly enviable, but fate has a different life in store for him. He acquires a system by chance, something was not intended for him. Thanks to this system, he ends up stranded in an unknown celestial plane, in a distant star cluster. He will have to reach the top of the cultivation to be able to return to his family, on the way he will find more than one problem and enemies that he will have to face. Of course, he will also find many beauties to embrace. “I risked my life to kill a mighty Heavenly Beast and the system rewards me with 1,000 points. However, taking a girl's virginity grants me 10,000 points and an immortal sword. What the hell do you expect me to become? The first chapters are the story before the story, since it deals a little before the birth of the protagonist, but it is necessary. Keep in mind 1.- In the world of cultivation, interests come first and feelings come after. 2.- Vlad is not a hero who fights for justice and love. 3.- Not all the women that appear will be part of the harem. There are many stories about protagonists who are born trash, with no talent, and who on their way become strong and fight to change their destiny. I want to write the story of the young master, talented from his birth, with thousands of resources at his disposal. At the beginning of the story his life is easy, but easy is not fun, along the way he will encounter many setbacks. This is my first novel, I'm a novice. I hope you like it. I hope to improve as the story progresses, thanks to the people who read this. English is not my native language, so please excuse the grammar. I do not have rights to the cover, if you want me to delete it, write me!

Jiu Ge's Beloved Spirit

Yun Si was the world’s first cluster amaryllis of Hell, also known as a Red Spider Lily. She was compatible with ghost fire, capable of commanding a hundred demons, and was especially adept in causing hallucinations. After a shocking encounter with the legendary gentleman, Jiu Ge, she fell deeply for him, captivated by his tenderness and beauty. Yun Si chirped, “Jiu Ge, Jiu Ge, can I court you?” The elegant man smiled gently and shook his head. Then, Yun Si successfully held his hand. She began wanting a mile after being given an inch. “Jiu Ge, Jiu Ge, can I hug you?” The gentleman kindly refused. Then, Yun Si successfully hugged him. “Jiu Ge, Jiu Ge, I want to kiss you.” The gentleman poked her forehead and said, “Miss, please behave.” The seductive Red Spider Lily spirit blinked her beautiful eyes and stood on tip toes. She easily got what she wanted. Thus, the little spirit was punished into making a copy of precepts because she did something wrong. The little spirit continued to hound after the gentleman. The gentleman looked down at their linking hands and said softly without getting angry, “You’re a lady, so you should conduct yourself with dignity.” “I don’t want to!” The little spirit stayed close to him and never left his side. She always assumed he had a gentle temperament, until one day, she witnessed a woman confessing to him. When the woman took a step forward, the gentleman’s face immediately darkened, and he kicked her away. Then, he barked coldly, “Get lost.” The woman fled in tears. The little spirit who kept hounding after the gentleman every day for hugs and kisses was confused. So the gentleman can be fierce… So the gentleman can be rough… A bold spirit vs a gentleman who tends to reject her on the outside, but dotes on her on the inside [Love at first sight + two-way crush]

Wounded: The Ordeals Of Lee Eun ha

Eun Ha? " the manager called, " Please take a menu to that table and get their request." deep down she would have wanted someone else to do it but this was the boss orders, who was she to reject. she took the menu and walked straight to the table, her heart was racing very fast, she couldn't phantom exactly why. good evening Sir, she said bowing her head politely as she offered the menu what would you like to have? they looked at the menu and pointed what they wanted, she went out from the table and brought the cocktail they had ordered, she turned back to leave when the voice of one of them stopped her in her tracks. "wait" her heart stopped for some split seconds and continued beating with difficulty. I know you, you're Mr Lee's daughter he said with and an evil grin that revealed his tobacco colored teeth. she froze as the tray she was holding dropped to the ground. "I was right, it's them" The restaurant on the ground floor was filled with people mostly the elites, some of them were tourist, others were there for a business meeting and others, conferences. the sound of the dropped tray caught the attention of most of them, making them glance at Eun Ha for some split seconds. He continued, The deadline is tomorrow evening don't forget that. Eun Ha had wanted to say something to them, perhaps, beg them but the words never left her throat. Eun Ha stood there for about two minutes, "will you get us our meal or will you just stand there?" the other muttered harshly. she knew they were evil men, above the law. falling into their trap was the most dangerous place a person could be. she resigned to begging for more time. one glance, Mu Chen could tell what was happening "X force" he whispered underneath his breath. they had quite a reputation and were feared by many. They feared no one and could illegally obtain what was theirs if necessary. He looked at the helpless young lady on the floor, he knew there was no way they'd let her go, no matter how much she begged. he didn't know this girl, yet he felt a need to protect her. he went out and waited in his car in the parking area. "Wait," he said with a deep voice. Chae won was surprised he would have sworn a few minutes ago that he was in a hurry to leave. The loan sharks finished their meal as she handed them their bills, "How ironic, we're paying for your service and you owe us," he said humorously as they both burst into laughter. Eun Ha felt a knife pierce her heart, she had never felt so much humiliation in her life. she followed them outside the building trying to plead with them for the last time to see if they'd cave in and give her more time but they just walked straight to the car and drove off. Eun Ha stood outside the hotel, in despair, her father was going to die, this men were ruthless, the cloud had darkened earlier, soon few drops of rain started falling, but she was in no hurry to leave as if it were possible for the rain to wash down all her pain, she stood outside staring blankly into thin air while it rained on her, soon her hair was separating into clustered strands, tear a freely flowed down her cheeks, she felt like screaming, she felt helpless, Just then she couldn't feel the raindrops on her skin she turned as her eyes met with a tall handsome young man holding a big black umbrella. Mu Chen looked at her sorrowful eyes, he could see the pain in her soul through them. "I know who they were, and I can roughly guess what it is" Eun Ha was confused, "what did he know? who was he? why is he being kind to me?" she asked one question after another in her head. "How much?" he asked with a king like voice. "10,000 dollars," she said as her lips trembled, "How did you...?" this time she was starting to get suspicious. I have an offer for you, I'll clear the debt but you'll carry my baby"

egg and I .... winning the heart

1946, Betty McDonald’s whimsical autobiography was as popular as baked beans; now it’s almost completely forgotten, but, tellingly, still in print. Alas, after an hour or two with The Egg & I, it was excruciatingly obvious that Betty McDonald’s book is not a classic. On some weeks, there might be as many as five competing challenges for each nonfiction slot, but rarely as straightforward as this. Literary classics cluster on the north face of Parnassus. For this vertiginous terrain there are different sherpas. Italo Calvino says that a classic is “a book that has never finished what it wants to say”. Ezra Pound identifies “a certain eternal and irresponsible freshness”; TS Eliot, much more astringent, observed in The Sacred Wood that “no modern language can hope to produce a classic, in the sense I have called Virgil a classic”. Alan Bennett wryly notes: “Definition of a classic: a book everyone is assumed to have read and often thinks they have.” Among nonfiction classics, the most treacherous category is that creature beloved of publishers – “the contemporary classic”. A second cousin to that notorious impostor is the “instant classic”. Such books will have been judged by slippery criteria: popular and literary critical fashion, a changing marketplace and new technology, bestseller lists and hype. In the past 100 years, a familiar palette of blurbish adjectives has given shape and colour to a moving target: provocative, outrageous, prophetic, groundbreaking, funny, disturbing, revolutionary, moving, inspiring, life-changing, subversive… a portrait of sir walter raleigh wearing a brocaded and beaded doublet The 100 best nonfiction books: No 99 – The History of the World by Walter Raleigh (1614) Read more This list raises another troubling question: is nonfiction “the new fiction”? There are some good writers who will argue that this is so, but I believe that nonfiction (which can sometimes successfully bring together many genres) is not, strictly speaking, a genre of its own. Creatively – yes – using narrative techniques borrowed from fiction, it’s possible to give certain kinds of nonfiction the aura of a distinct new genre. Yet, at the end of the day, “nonfiction” fractures into time-hallowed categories such as philosophy, memoir, history, reportage and poetry (see below), etc. This is particularly true of “nonfiction classics” from the 18th and 19th centuries, titles such as A Treatise of Human Nature by David Hume or On Liberty by JS Mill. By that yardstick, a recent classic will be quite distinct, chiefly because its literary and cultural milieu is so different

after the resurrection

One last thing that did not leave my head after the resurrection At night, on the first day in the capital, Sanaa, 28 years ago, I realized that my father rented a house for us without windows, and I did not care at that time because the door was enough to cross my small body towards the city. We fell asleep to shorten the night quickly, taking advantage of the fatigue of travel Tomorrow morning, I woke up to the sound of the television of the owner of the house, who lives on the second and last floor.. I did not know what television was at the time. Nader woke up and asked him what that sound was?! He heard, then his eyes grew large, and he jogged to remove the cover to put his ear on the door. He said: Where does this sound come from?!! I do not know We slowly opened the door. We pulled our heads out to see, for nearly five years, at the mouth of the ladder, a child carrying bread and eggs. He said: Who are you? I'm Raidan and this is Nader, and you? He said: I am Nable. Saddam's head peeked out from between two iron bars at the top of the ladder and shouted: Nabell the episode has begun, ! We went up with him uninvited, as curiosity was pushing us unconsciously to know what this episode was, and when we arrived in front of the screen, the astonishment grew and grew in my face, and Nader's in a hysterical manner.... A huge wooden box with a glass in the middle, inside was a cartoon of a very beautiful and yellow-haired girl wearing An elegant outfit and carrying a sword Saddam cut us off, saying: You don't know Oscar? We: Oscar??!! Saddam: This is you ( idiots ) on TV! We: TV??!!! Nabil: Yes, TV.. He added that this watch of ten men her father taught her to fight because he did not have a boy with him, and he was silent because we did not turn towards him from the beginning.. Suddenly we heard my mother's frightened scream calling for us, so we hurried and the doors looked similar, and we entered the bedroom to find Nabil and Saddam's father falling asleep in the womb of the mother. We closed our eyes and turned around, and if Nabil had not directed us to the exit, our hearts would have stopped in horror at the scene we saw and my mother's voice that shook the world.. We went down and as soon as we got to the door, my mother greeted us with a stick in her hand, two hits in the head and another in the butt. As for the rest of the punishment, it was an endless screaming from my mother's throat, which was difficult to silence.. In the coming days, except when we used to ask permission to go up to our new friends’ apartment, every time my mother lost us, she would go straight up with her scratched hand and take us home the same way. In military service, he barely paid the rent and spent on us, so it lasted a lot until the owner of the house got bored of us he would often refuse to open the door for us, and we would return disappointed, howling and yelling: We want TV. And when my father decided to replace the television by going out to a Street, we forgot to accept this offer and filled our bodies with dirt and the dirt of the city while we were playing with friends we found who agreed to play with them without conditions.

Horror thoughts

Content warning: Horror thoughts She waits with a watchful eye, staring at the pasta. It doesn’t boil. Pacing back and forth across the empty kitchen with the useless pots and pans still in the creaky cupboard, she adds another pinch of salt to the pasta. It still doesn’t boil. She thinks about putting on a bit of music while she waits, but the downstairs neighbors hate when she does that, and she can’t remember where she last left her headphones. They might be in her coat pocket or they might not, perhaps she left them on top of the back bed in the room with the leftover textbooks. Or maybe she didn’t, maybe she left them hanging off the tiny coat rack, right next to her keys. Wherever she left them it’s too much work to run and find them, especially when the pot might boil soon. As soon as it boils, she’ll put the pasta in. As soon as it boils. The tiny apartment is only temporary, and the only burner fizzles on her. She coaxes it, fights it, begs it to make a bigger flame but it does not, settling proudly for the dull little spark that it is. Blowing on a flame coaxes a campfire; she wonders if it’ll help the stove. Probably not. She watches the blue flame dance and stares right through it. Her phone lights up. She has a notification, another message she’s not going to read. Why bother, when she knows exactly what it will say? Still, she checks the name. She reads the first two letters and flips the phone over, wincing as it lands a bit too hard on the counter. Fortunately, it’s not cracked. Unfortunately, that part of the counter is still covered in uncleaned bacon grease from his disaster yesterday, and now her phone is too. The television buzzes a commercial from the living area, or whatever passes as such. She cranes her neck to check the ad, but it's not selling anything good, just some sort of medical plan for old people, the kind of thing she couldn't afford even if she chopped off both arms and sold them. When she left home, she swore up and down she wasn’t ever going to be the kind of person who left the TV on. She wasn’t going to eat in front of it, didn’t even need a good model really, just something to use to occasionally watch old cartoons and maybe a new show if he wanted to. Now, the TV is always on, always buzzing, always saying something, just a little too quiet to hear. The pot on the stove is still not boiling. She thinks she remembered to top the water off with cold water, but maybe she didn’t. She wonders if throwing in a tablespoon or two now will change anything. Probably not; her greasy phone buzzes again. She flips it over, checks the name, and turns it back down. He’s not going to write her. She knows that. Still, she checks, just in case. Banana bread would probably be a smart thing to make,
