The Server's Chronicle: A Fantasy Of Faith

Senior Server Felix stood at the front of the church, his voice steady and solemn as he greeted the congregation. “Our help is in the name of the Lord,” he intoned. “Who made Heaven and Earth,” the people responded in unison, their voices matching his reverent tone. “Today, we initiate new members into this divine and holy Order,” Felix continued. “Today, we welcome new brethren into the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.” At the back of the church, Louis sat on one of the few single chairs, his posture slightly slouched as his focus remained on a sheet of music in his hands. The title read, "Brightest and Best – Key of A-flat." 'Why didn’t Gramps give me an F or G? A-flat is so difficult, and I only have three days to finish it,' he grumbled silently, his brow furrowing in frustration. But he dared not voice his complaints. He could already imagine his grandfather assigning him even more difficult pieces—F-sharps and endless A-flats—as punishment. From the front of the church, a serene voice called out, “Harry! Step forward!” Louis glanced up, momentarily pulled from his inner musings. His eyes landed on a girl stepping forward from the pews. She had black hair neatly styled in a bun and striking green eyes that seemed to shine with warmth and composure. Dressed in a modest brown dress and black sandals, with a rosary resting gracefully around her neck, she exuded a calm, dignified presence. Her tanned skin and graceful demeanor only added to the aura of reverence surrounding her, befitting an Altar server. 'Sigh,' Louis thought as he brushed a hand through his white hair, his blue eyes softening with a mix of admiration and envy. 'I wonder what it’s like to be an Altar server. They all seem so pure and divine… and powerful.' Just as he returned his attention to his music, a calm, gentlemanly voice spoke beside him. “You could also be an Altar server, if you’re interested.” “Huh?” Louis blurted out, snapping his head to the side. But no one was there. “What in the name of Jesus is going on here?” he muttered, glancing nervously around. “At least you know my name,” the voice replied again, seemingly amused. “What?” Louis whispered, his heart beginning to race. "I'm certain you will be a good server," the voice said, calm yet enigmatic. Louis narrowed his eyes, still searching for its source. "Who are you?" "I have many personalities. I have many names," the voice replied with an air of mystery. "It’s your choice which one you accept." "You’re not making any sense," Louis muttered, growing more unsettled. "Blessed are those who have not seen but believed…" Before Louis could respond, his vision blurred, and the world around him seemed to melt away. He jolted awake, gasping for air. His hands clutched the crumpled sheet of music, its corners bent from his restless grip. His head teetered precariously over the edge of his bed, a faint ache in his neck reminding him of the awkward position he’d been in. "Holy Mother of Jesus!" he exclaimed as he lost his balance, tumbling off the bed in a heap of blankets and scattered papers.

"DEADLY ANIME ADDICTION"

A Few Warnings for the Reader: This short novel is written for people who appreciate Japanese anime – a worldwide community numbering in the hundreds of millions. It's important to understand from the start that anime is not just "children's cartoons," as animation is often perceived in places like Europe and the USA. Anime represents a distinct form of animation and a significant cultural force, almost like "super-cinema." It can be incredibly dynamic and explore serious themes. Now, let's be honest, a large portion of anime is… not great. Maybe around 90% could be considered simply "okay" or even, let's say, "trashy." It can be blatant, silly, and not particularly engaging. Many viewers watch one of these less impressive shows and then assume all anime is similar. But that's a mistake! Understand this: by doing that, you're missing out on potentially the most captivating entertainment of your life. That's not an exaggeration – it's a genuine perspective. But the remaining 10%? That's where the true "super-cinema" lies. Good anime is unmatched in its ability to tell emotionally resonant stories and deliver dynamic action. Anime creators are free to push boundaries. Their imaginations delve into the complexities of the human heart, challenging the common "European view" that restricts animation to children. This story(it's not a Fanfiction!) is a tribute to a classic anime called "Fate." Fate is not my personal absolute favorite – there are masterpieces which incredibly hard to surpass. But still, it's a powerful example of the story started as a simple eroge and converted to a deeply emotional cult film.

Adventure of Zhao

Dear Bosstraatnese, my friends, and those who once lived on Bosstraat, Twenty-five years ago, we navigated the alleys and woods of Hasselt and Diepenbeek with our broken English. Alongside foamy beers, hot wine and waffles, we debated European history, culture, politics, the future, music, and folklore, and created a series of inside jokes that still shine in my memory to this day. Now, with the rapid advancement of new technologies, where neural implants rewrite human cognition and quantum tunneling blurs the world's boundaries, I'm crafting an adventure titled Adventure of Zhao—a vessel that preserves the DNA of our shared cross - cultural wonders. The story is set in Huinan Town, Shanghai, in 2025. It tells the tale of Zhao Ming, an ordinary 48 years old clerk in his zodiac year. At seven o'clock on the eighth day of the first lunar month, while riding his electric bike to work, he suddenly noticed double - vision. Curiously, he discovered that these were glimpses of another world. Unable to resist his curiosity, he entered this parallel realm only to find it occupied by alien creatures even smaller than viruses. Humans were confined to tiny safe zones, at risk of infection with the slightest misstep. Once infected, they could only alleviate symptoms with herbal remedies, but the fate of becoming a puppet was irreversible. Fortunately, he found that the cola he carried could significantly relieve the infection symptoms. Even better, whenever he saw the double - vision again, he could return to his original world. Thus, a miracle doctor emerged in the other world. His blue and red potions saved many lives. He actively established an impregnable stronghold in an abandoned town on the front line (a town in Los Angeles, USA), which became a reliable supply point for exploration teams from diverse ethnic and national backgrounds. Through trading with the exploration teams, he provided many affordable supplies for the civilians in the safe zone, earning universal praise. Unbeknownst to all, cola syrup, AI technology, nuclear power batteries, robots, and other items were quietly delivered to the stronghold, becoming powerful weapons against the alien creatures. The climax of this novel hinges on a fact we prove every day: Friction between cultures doesn't breed chaos but joy—the very energy that fueled our midnight laughs and loud talks in the Common Room in our twenties. Will you let your laughter be forever etched on this speculative tapestry? I'm compiling my memories and adding my imagination—from the Nordic regions to Sicily, Italy—to fuel the narrative core. Let's use time - travel to create an all - powerful version of ourselves, for as my story will demonstrate, the most radical future is built upon a beloved past. With nostalgia for Bosstraat, Spencer P.S. The draft includes a strange creature called the "Toad - mouthed Owl," which can speak in our idioms. When it declares, "Fxxkxx Bxxxx!", be ready to cringe/laugh!
