In Chaos City on the Norland Continent, there is a strange restaurant. Here, elves and dwarves share tables. Beastmen are prohibited from making a din, and giant dragons can only seat around the tiny square in front of the restaurant. Even demons have to bring their own stools… But it is such a strange restaurant that has long lines outside every day. Elves are stuffing kebabs, paying no mind to their manners; giant dragons are sitting around a hot pot, strainers in their hands; demons are eating nice-looking dango… "There's no other place on this continent where you can find food like that! The boss here is a genius!" a customer provides such a review. Then, he gives a furtive look at the door. "Also, don't you think of kidnapping the boss away or dine-and-dashing, or you will suffer a tragic death." "Eat, pay, or you will be beaten to death." says a cute little girl in her childish voice as she trots forward. A five-meter tall dragon shivers when it meets her eyes.

In a world where the majority of people can perform magic with the 4 basic elements, exist those who have received a unique ability called a 'gift'. These people can use their powers for the greater good. committing crimes or simply competing for the title of strongest awakener. In Sofia Montblanc's case, her powers seemed almost too good to be true, like they were tailor-made for someone with a grey moral compass. Her gift 'Warp' allows her to teleport anything and anyone wherever she wants, effectively making her the perfect person for any job.

Smartness and Prudence  tells the story of the impoverished Frimpong family, focusing on the sisters Elikem and Akosuah, personifications of good sense (common sense) and prudence. They become destitute  upon the death of their father, who leaves his home, Norland Park, to their half brother, Akwesi. Although instructed to take care of his sisters, Akwesi is dissuaded of his duty by his greedy wife, Nana. The family—which, in addition to Elikem and Akosuah, includes their mother and a younger sister—moves to Barton Cottage in Devonshire. There the open and enthusiastic Akosuah meets Colonel Wussah, a staid and settled bachelor 20 years her senior. Although he expresses an interest in Akosuah, she discourages his attention and instead becomes infatuated with the attractive Kweku Attah, who seems to be a romantic lover but is in reality an unscrupulous fortune hunter. He deserts Akosuah for an heiress, and she eventually makes a sensible marriage with Colonel Wussah.
