Styx Helix

Cygnus X-1

Growth of civilization has been augmented continuously by the colossal presence of technology. A hundred years ago, earth suffered devastating calamities and humans weren’t able to survive in it anymore. Humanity almost perished but a few skilled technologists came together to weave seven space stations that were capable of housing thousands, albeit a few. The space stations banded together to form a single massive station named “The Sanctuary”, where about 7,000 people lived. Resources were scarce and all crimes no matter their severity were punishable by death, unless the transgressor was under 18 years of age. After the Sanctuary’s life support systems were found to be deteriorating, 202 skilled military personnel were dispatched to one of the the nearest planets, a promising candidate for supporting life. The main mission of the military personnel was to scout a planet for a few strange creatures that were capable of resisting radiation and thriving in unfavorable conditions. Humanity had never forgotten to reclaim its lost home, hence various projects were launched yearly with the sole aim of finding a solution to earth’s biggest problem— extremely high level radiation. Project Helix was finally supported by the Assembly although it raised ethical concerns. The project focused on introducing animal genes into humans, with the belief that humans would be able to survive the harsh conditions of earth. Many problems were considered before the Assembly finally gave their support. Would the genes from these animals be compatible with the human genome? Would they be able to integrate into human cells and function as intended? How would the genes be edited and regulated to ensure they don’t disrupt other essential human genes or processes? Could introducing these genes have unintended consequences, such as altering human physiology, behavior, or cognitive abilities? Would the introduction of animal genes into humans raise ethical concerns, such as the potential for unforeseen side effects or the blurring of lines between species? Each one of these problems was enough to dissuade the upper echelons of the Assembly but the deteriorating life support systems was a major concern hence humanity decided to take a big risk, or perhaps a leap of faith. Let’s delve deep into this story so as to enjoy the alluring taste it has to offer, as Miguel Morien creates a new path for humanity, a path along which humans are able to fuse with the genes of beasts, thereby bringing out their lethality and battle prowess, further dazzling the entirety of the world with it.

Are You stable or unstable.

Synopsis "I will stop; tell me how long to stay," Sam lovingly placed his hand on Helix's head and said, looking at her with wet eyes. "You have to stop until I forget every single moment spent with you, and forgetting every moment spent with you means forgetting myself. So, tell me, will you stop until I become a corpse." Saying that Helix could not stop her tears and started crying very loudly. "No, don't ever say that. I will always be with you. Got it? Now stop crying and give me a breathtaking smile and crazy Helix back," Sam said, giving her a little pat on her forehead. "Liar, you are such a big liar," Helix said with moist eyes and a fake smile on her face because of his sake. "No, I am not a liar. It is true that no matter what the situation may be, I can never forget you, and neither do you want to leave me," Sam said with a pleasant smile, caressing her palm. Eclipse of the Despair

The world rejoiced as the dark lord fell, defeated by the combined might of kingdoms and magic. Yet, amidst the jubilation, a heavy silence settled—a void left by the fallen hero. The one who had wielded the sword of destiny, who had faced down the abyss, now lay cold and lifeless. But love knows no boundaries, not even death. The hero’s lover, consumed by grief and desperate to reverse fate, embarks on a perilous quest. Their goal is audacious: to unravel the fabric of reality itself, to tear apart the very essence of the world, all in the hope of resurrecting their beloved. As they journey through treacherous lands, encountering ancient sorcery, forgotten gods, and the remnants of a shattered civilization, they grapple with the moral cost of their mission. The world, once bathed in sunlight, now shivers under an eternal twilight. The stars themselves flicker, as if mourning the hero’s absence. Yet, the lover persists. Sacrifices must be made—the innocent, the guilty, entire cities razed to dust—all to fuel the forbidden ritual that could awaken the hero. But as the lover delves deeper into forbidden knowledge, they begin to question: Is it love or madness that drives them? And what price will the world pay for their desperate devotion? In this shadowed epoch, where hope wanes and despair thrives, the lover stands at the precipice. For the hero’s life, they would plunge the world into chaos. But can love alone mend the fabric of existence, or will it unravel further, leaving naught but darkness?

[Nightmare]

Helix didn’t want to become a protagonist. Unfortunately, he was summoned to another world against his will, and a mad god was dead set on making him the hero. After turning down her offer for comical power and a harem-attracting charm attribute, he was left with [zeros] for all of his stats. Worse, he was given a legendary magic class that creates illusions of an enemy’s greatest fear and has a millennium-long history of killing its wielders in the first month. His decision left him defenseless around 49 jealous light novel-reading Earthians with delusional desires to be the protagonist and slaughter their way to godhood. Stranded in a world where [everyone] is one punch man, only his mind and cunning will help him survive. — [Nightmare] explores cliches from a real-world perspective. The mc doesn't want to be a protagonist—that never changes. It's a dynamic that makes this story a satisfying dark comedy and constantly asks interesting questions. This novel examines how the [mindsets] of the weebs shape how they view and interact with it. It covers RPG culture, harem culture, cultivator world mindset, system wish fulfillment, real-world weak to strong complications, and the twisted nature of overpowered characters. Yes: Helix gets satisfyingly op. Note: I had to read a truckload of cliche novels to roast cliches. Especially cultivation cliches—I'm writing a cultivation novel! XD [Sexual content warning]. There are lemons. You're welcome. If you like the comedy aspect, try out my other novel My Yandere Harem for ultimate yandere goodness. —Important Disclaimer— This novel has a heartbreaking scene that highlights the tragic consequences of the cultivator mindset. 80% of the people drop do it because of that chapter. I wouldn't have written it if I knew how adverse WN readers were to character deaths. Please don't drop because of that scene. The decision was bad, but the story isn't. If it hits you like a bag of bricks, it means that my writing was powerful, and there's a lot of potential in the future. Enjoy the novel!

Della’s Escape! (Elliot is here, too).

Elliot Rowan was an average youth. Newly eighteen, he had graduated high school with no real plans; all he knew is, he loved escaping to fantastic worlds through video games, where he could be something more than a pale, average, midwestern nerd. Elliot had made a name for himself in the video game community — but was better known by his gamertag, CloudJumperEli. Elliot wanted to seek a career in his passion, but his family believed that he should pursue a “practical” job field, continually mentioning his less than stellar grades throughout his time in school. Amid his few college invitations, one day Elliot receives a letter from Peri-Helix Entertainment — only the greatest, most prestigious game manufacturer in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE! “Dear Elliot Rowan - We here at Peri-Helix Entertainment are constantly searching for the best of the best in everything we do. The only question Elliot had: What does GEAR stand for?
