Meanwhile, in the three years after the initial invasion, a few humans have begun to not only fight back against the ice aliens, but some choose to become hosts and acquire unique abilities after slaying one of these bloodthirsty, unconventional extraterrestrials. Having no magic in a world filled with it is difficult. However, having been born in a supportive family and village is helpful, especially when they are all abnormally strong. This fact makes Nikes life much easier as she is taught how to use the sword from those people. Of course, like all stories, her life changes after a single day.
