But deep within the Earth, at its core, something immemorial was awakening. An inert and unknown being, whose power caused the arcane energy itself to cease to exist when it approached. A seed of darkness, small but hungry, began to absorb the worst feelings accumulated over millennia: fear, hatred, pain, and destruction. And then, the seed chose an heir. In the bowels of the skeleton of a dead woman, abandoned in a muddy abyss, a boy came into the world. Gaemo, the one who should not have been born. Sentenced to public execution the moment he was found shortly after his birth, the boy faced death without tears.
