Hero is just a Title
Superpowers appeared suddenly plunging the world into chaos. Wars broke out, countries were destroyed, and the powers spread like a plague. 100 years later powers became the norm, countries all collapsed, and The Watch rose up to protect the world.
Life was black and white. The heroes fought the villains and saved the day, the villains did bad things and were defeated. That’s how most children saw it. Peter Het never should have seen it that way, but he did - until his image of the world burnt in front of his eyes. Levi Winter always saw it that way - until the world gave him reason to.
Both wanted to try and make a difference using the powers they'd been born with. One had planned to help the world by being the perfect hero, the other by killing the people he saw as responsible for the problems that polluted the world. Neither found themselves doing what they’d imagined. The one seeking to be a hero became a criminal, the one seeking vengeance became an icon of heroes. Their paths in life diverged like streams rushing down a mountain and are then brought back together to cascade over the edge into a new unknown. Both are seeking peace in the unceasing hurricane of life and the violence they can’t escape, and they’ve come to realize that ‘hero’ is nothing more than a title.
