The Guardian's Oath
In the world of Eryndor, a magical realm filled with countless creatures, powerful beings, and ancient ruins, everyone is born with a System—a personal magical interface that determines their destiny. Most are granted systems that focus on personal power, like swordsmanship, elemental control, or healing. But some rare individuals are chosen by a unique system: Guardian.
The protagonist, Kael, is one such individual, born with a Guardian System, an ancient and mysterious power. Unlike other systems, the Guardian System doesn’t grant Kael direct magical abilities; instead, it allows him to summon powerful spirits, known as Guardians, that he must protect and nurture. Each Guardian is a being of immense power, capable of defending entire cities or bringing about great destruction. Kael’s job as a Guardian is not only to command these spirits in battle but to ensure they are cared for, forming a bond that strengthens both him and his Guardians.
However, there’s a catch: each Guardian is bound to Kael’s life force. If a Guardian dies, so does he. The more powerful the Guardian, the higher the risk to his own life. As Kael matures, he must juggle the pressures of being a protector, leading expeditions to battle monsters, and uncovering the truth behind the mysterious origins of the Guardian System. Along the way, he builds his team of diverse Guardians—each with their own personalities, abilities, and backstories—while unraveling a conspiracy that threatens not only his life but the entire structure of the System that governs his world.
