Pei Ling— an arrogant castle woman who has nowhere to go seeks the hand of Gao He Shen and a child; who's going to tell them He Shen's a woman? Historical context takes place during the fall of the Song empire and the rise of the Southern Song Empire. With the Northern Jin getting stronger and closer who knows what new troubles will arise in He Shen’s life? But seeing as aggression is building up on both sides of the war front as their young emperor takes the throne. Warnings: There is some history delineation at some point as this is based on a fictional character. Parents and elders arrange marriages Some lack of communication, but it gets better after the first time. Specifically because that character is a watch and learn type. There is a major god in the story, no they will not be introduced until later in the story and “magic” doesn’t get introduced until later as well. As this is historical context if I get things wrong please correct me as I have only studied for at least 6 months before writing this story every aspect that I would need for it. Story progression kicks off at the beginning. All of the characters weren’t made for you to like them, only for you to see them as human. I can’t draw well so you’re going to have to live with the cover I made.

Echoes of the Dreaming Gods

Synopsis: "Echoes of the Dreaming Gods" Overview: "Echoes of the Dreaming Gods" is a surreal, mythological adventure that intertwines the fates of four protagonists Astraea, Ikaros, Selene, and Orion who each struggle with the burdens of their pasts while navigating an ever-shifting world shaped by both ancient myths and fluid dreamscapes. Guided and manipulated by celestial entities known as the Dreaming Gods, the characters embark on a journey that transcends time and space, exploring themes of ambition, power, fate, and self-discovery. Plot: In a world where reality is as unstable as a dream, the ancient Dreaming Gods begin to stir, their influence reaching across time and dimensions. These gods represent primal forces and cosmic archetypes, and they seek to manipulate mortals for their own ends. As the boundaries between the mythic past, the surreal present, and the speculative future begin to blur, four characters are drawn together, their destinies intertwined. Astraea, once a powerful queen lost to time, wanders invisibly through the modern world, forgotten by history but desperate to reclaim her lost kingdom and fading identity. She embarks on a quest to confront the Dreaming Gods and restore her power, all the while battling her growing irrelevance in a world that no longer remembers her. Ikaros, a descendant of the mythical Icarus, is cursed by his family's legacy of doomed ambition. He is a modern-day inventor, obsessed with breaking the cycle of failure by creating a device that can alter time. His journey takes him through parallel dimensions where he must confront the limits of his ambition and the painful memories of his ancestors' downfall. Selene, a silent oracle who can see the future but is cursed never to speak it, is drawn into the ever-shifting city of dreams. She wanders, writing cryptic messages on walls and watching as the calamities she foresees come to pass. Her quest is to find a way to break her curse and finally give voice to the future, knowing that her silence has caused untold suffering. Orion, an eternal rebel cursed by the Dreaming Gods to live through endless cycles of revolution and failure, struggles with his disillusionment. Once a great revolutionary leader, he is now cynical and battle-weary, fighting for causes he no longer believes in. His journey through time is a search for meaning beyond rebellion, as he contemplates abandoning his fight or finding a new purpose. Their individual journeys are set into motion by a celestial event the reawakening of the Dreaming Gods triggered by a mysterious shift in the cosmic order. As time begins to unravel and dreams bleed into reality, each character is thrust into a series of surreal adventures that test their willpower, morality, and sense of identity. The Dreaming Gods are not malevolent, but they are indifferent to the struggles of mortals, using the characters as pawns in their grand game. They manifest in shifting, symbolic forms an ever-moving river, a cloud of stars, or a colossal stone statue and offer each protagonist a chance at redemption, knowledge, or freedom, though the cost is always steep.
