Unsynchronized Lives
My existence was simple and ordinary, trapped in the monotony of a routine that seemed to go on forever. Every day, for as long as I can remember, went by in a predictable way, with no surprises or shocks. However, there was something that broke with this apparent normality: at certain moments, without warning, the continuity of time was fractured.
It was a strange and disconcerting phenomenon. The whole world froze. People, objects, even the air I breathed were suspended, as if the universe had held its breath. Everything but me. I was the only one capable of moving, of exploring that frozen state. At first, I thought it was a dream, a hallucination or some kind of brain anomaly, but eventually I realised it was real.
However, I could not shake the feeling that I was not as alone as it seemed. There was something in that absolute silence, something that made me feel watched, stalked. Was I really the only one who could move in those moments? Or perhaps, there was something - or someone - else who was also walking in the stillness of time.
