The Long Way Home!
Kaylee Stevens, a 12-year-old girl, awakens alone in a dark forest in the middle of nowhere. She has no memory of what occurred or how she ended herself here. All she knows is that she was left with a message stating that she needed to get home asap. The only supplies she has is a backpack, some supplies, an empty journal, and a pencil with her, and the date she arrived is written within the journal that she doesn't find out until morning.
She chooses to start walking in the morning. After an couple of hours exploring the area around her, trying to guide herself home. She acknowledges that it would be a long walk home. Because when it hits dark. It becomes cold, she was worried, apprehensive, and afraid. As she has the knowledge, that anytime she can possibly die. She is alone when she encounters a fox in the distance who does not trust her at first.
With time, as she trenches through different terrains, places, trying to get home with the fox at her side. Kaylee and the fox, who she decides to name Jakob, begin to trust each other for who they are and know that they are here and together for a reason. It's at this point that she realizes that life takes on a whole new meaning when she's around her companion.
Will she and her fox survive this journey? Will they be able to make it home and live a normal life?
There is only one answer: follow Kaylee's long journey, and her companion as they take the long walk home.
