The storm raged outside, a torrent of rain and wind slamming against the windows of the old chapel where Aeliana and Lucian now stood, facing one another. Her voice, usually measured and calm, trembled with a force that rivaled the storm itself. "I love you," Aeliana said, her glowing eyes locking onto his, raw and unguarded.
Her hand pressed against his chest, holding him firmly in place. He could feel the power humming beneath her touch, not just magic—but her conviction. "I love how far you've come for me. How far you’ve changed. But, Lucian..." Her voice cracked, her grip tightening
. "You have to love yourself too. I can’t— I won’t—be the only thing keeping you alive. I can’t feel alone again." Lucian blinked, his crimson eyes darkening with confusion and pain. His voice was soft, almost hesitant.
"Again? What do you mean, again, Aeliana?" The Do-Over System hummed faintly in her mind, as if summoned by her words. Her heart clenched as the vision unfolded, vivid and sharp as a dagger to the chest.

As the scene unfolded to Lucian pulling the trigger on himself " I wish I could have been," Her knees hit the ground beside him, her hands shaking as they hovered over his form, too late to save him.
"Why?" she had sobbed, her tears indistinguishable from the rain. "You didn’t have to—don’t you see I needed you?!" Her cries were swallowed by the storm, and she was left alone, drowning in her grief. The memory snapped back into the present, leaving Aeliana breathless.
"What are you talking about? I don’t understand."
Of course, you don’t. That was... before." She wiped her face hastily, the vulnerability almost too much to bear.
"I lost you, Lucian. You gave up everything for me, even yourself. And it broke me." Lucian's face softened, confusion giving way to something deeper—fear, perhaps, or an unspoken dread. I don't know, Aeliana how to be... better. To be someone worth saving." "You are worth saving," Aeliana persisted said fiercely, stepping close again. "But you have to fight for yourself too. Promise me, Lucian. Swear it. Whatever happens, you’ll choose to live."
