Ethan Cross is a bank teller who feels stuck in a dull life and wants more. His life changes drastically when a violent robbery leaves him unconscious. He wakes up in a strange, dystopian world. A voice tells him that he has been chosen to use the Anime Villain Summoning System. This power lets him summon anime villains from different dimensions, but it comes with a high price: his family is no longer in his memory. As Ethan struggles with this new reality, he summons his first villain, Johan Liebert, and receives a task: he must make Johan attract the attention of Nick Fury. If he fails, he will lose his empathy. Ethan soon realizes he is trapped in a dark game where each action demands a sacrifice.

In this world, having a spirit animal isn't just superstition or a metaphor. Half the population can actually summon them for their personal needs, which brings forth a lot of opportunities for humanity as a whole! People use it for good, making our way of life easier. But wherever there are opportunities, danger lurks. Living in this version of New York, the quite literal concrete jungle, makes our protagonist's life all the more interesting.
